I’m surprised that no one has created a forum for Cohort 2021 yet when application opens in a few weeks. Anyone here planning to apply to Manoa’s GEPN ‘21 program or is already in the program willing to give advice? Pointers? Feel free to share ??⚕️
I wanted to provide you all with an update. I just received an email from the GEPN coordinator confirming my acceptance and the email stated "please be advised that the attached letter and forms will not be mailed to you." Looks like acceptances with be via email only this year. I'm not sure about waitlist or rejection notifications. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the information! I applied at the beginning of this month (October) so I am assuming that I will receive my decision sometime next month.

I'm planning to apply next year, and if you don't mind, may I ask those who got accepted about their stats and what they got in for? Just so future applicants could see what an accepted student's stats would look like? Thank you so much!
Hey!
I got into the APHN pathway.
I graduate with my BA in public administration with a concentration in health care admin in December.
Right now my GPA Is a 3.5. I completed the prerequisites with mostly A’s and a couple B’s.
This was my first time applying . I read before they look heavily at your resume and your essay so I did focus on that a lot and edited quite a few times LOL
My background is I’m a Clinical Assistant at Straub Medical Center for about 4 years now.
I’m also an Air Force medic in the National Guard.
Goodluck to you for next year☺️

Hi! I am from California and I got into the FNP track.
I received a BS in Exercise Physiology (2017) and an MS in Global Medicine (2018). My undergrad GPA was 3.13 and graduate GPA was 3.67.
I had completed 5/6 prerequisite courses with mostly A’s and a couple B’s when I submitted my application.
I have approximately 1600 hrs of volunteer work, 1000 hrs of medical work experience, 1000 hrs of leadership experience, 600 hrs of shadowing (physician and NP) and 600 hrs of research.
Admissions for the program only reviews four things: GPA, Prerequisite Courses, Essays and Resume. I spent a few months perfecting my essays and resume because I felt that is where I could make myself stand out. I also followed the advice from past students on the forum and attended 2 online info sessions (1 in June and 1 August) to make sure all of my questions were answered. I highly recommend doing this!! I also recommend applying as early as possible because the cohort always fills up fast according to the GEPN advisors.
Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back and to next year’s applicants!
Hi everyone!
I also received my email yesterday for the GEPN-DNP program. Timeline wise... I submitted my UH Graduate application on 8/12, submitted my transcripts on 8/31, and submitted my NursingCAS app on 9/2 (which went into review on 9/4). In today's email, Chris confirmed that they would not be mailing out the recommendation/admittance letters (compared to previous years where recommendations were emailed prior to acceptance letters - applied last year). Good luck everyone!

Hi all! I got accepted to the GEPN-MS APHN track. This is my first time applying, and I submitted both my Nursing CAS and graduate division applications on September 14 and received my acceptance letter on October 22.
I graduated with a BA in Global Studies and Psychology, and I actually don't have much experience at all in healthcare so there's hope for those with a non-healthcare background. My undergrad GPA was a 3.6 and my prereq GPA is a 4.0 (I still need to finish taking Microbio and Human Growth and Dev). I have previously worked multiple administrative office roles. I attended a GEPN info session in April and started working on my personal statement in May/June because I knew a great personal statement that described my career path change would really impact my application. I remember reading through past forums hoping to look for someone with similar stats/background as me so I hope this helps future applicants!
I will be coming from CA so if anyone has advice about off-campus housing, please let me know!
Good luck to everyone!

I submitted my application on 10/10 and I got an email that my application was under review on 10/19. When can I expect an acceptance/rejection letter or mail?
Hi! I submitted my application at the beginning of this month and received notice that my application is under review about the 2nd week of October. From what it looks like, we may hear something sometime next month at the earliest. It looks as though others who submitted their application early in September were notified of their acceptance about a month later and their notification were through email.
