This is just a vent, there is no solution for this...
Overnight peeps... do any of your clients have the same playlist of music (lullabies, in my case) that runs over and over and over? Every night? Don't these kids get sick of this music? Gah!!!
I also have a ct who's parents have a country music station on for her all the time, which I do not care for, to put it mildly. It plays hits in high rotation, so I end up having the country top 40 in my head all the time! ("Chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco, spit!" Pure poetry.) Amusingly, I can get that client to stop crying only when I sing Red Hot Chili Peppers songs, so there's hope for this one.
We have a 'soothing music channel' at my other job (PICU at a local children's hospital) and I swear- it only plays one song- over and over and over and over and over..... you get my drift!
We had a baby a couple months back whose parents were Muslim, and they left an ipod playing 24/7 in his room of Arabic prayers being sung/ chanted. I thought I would lose it a couple of times it got so monotonous. 'Accidentally' unplugged it and it ran out of battery.
I will often watch a movie or listen to a concert on YouTube with one ear bud on low volume. I always must have at least one ear tuned in since the child is trached. Actually I seldom have both buds going even when I'm not at work. I dislike not hearing what's happening around me, it feels creepy. Why do dem boys 'round here sing about being a redneck like it's a good thing? "I'm about to get my redneck on"? "Gonna shine my headlights in your bedroom window"? Sounds like a scary stalker to me, and I'll betcha he's got a gun there!
yes, an AR 15,
actually, i don't understand that song either
i guess his parents didn't teach him to share his old
toys with the less fortunate
