UF's Generic BSN Program Fall 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi Guys! I haven't seen any threads for this coming fall semester for UF, so i decided to start one.

I'll start by saying my name is Naomi & I have applied for entry into the GENERIC Fall 2012 BSN program. I'm a Jacksonville, FL native and I am praying for this acceptance so I can get started with nursing school, finish, and start my career. I am super excited because I love Gainesville and UF. I think it is a terrific school, as I have a few friends who attend there. When I applied I had a 3.31 overall GPA, and I'm not quite sure how to calculate my science GPA, (if anyone can help me with that, I'll definitely appreciate it!) but I feel I wrote a great essay, so hopefully along with that and my prayers, I will get accepted. I am already claiming it!

Well, I wish you guys who applied the best of luck and I hope to see you all this coming fall semester. =)

I guess this can be a means of communication for those out there with any questions or comments regarding the application/review process, or anything else you're curious to know.

Good luck!

- Naomi

hello everyone.

this is ken foote from uf college of nursing. i do check this site from time to timeand will occasionally post if it’s useful.

letters, both admission and denial, went out friday june 8th in the morningmail. i expect people to start receiving letters wednesday based on how i knowthe mail works around here but i can’t guarantee that.

for transfer students, your status on line through isis will update by the end ofthe week. if you are a uf student reading this, hold don’t necessarily meananything one way or another.

i knoweveryone is anxious to find out but it’s just going to take some time. just tryto remain patient and please keep in mind that that we do not discuss decisionsover the phone or via email.

if youhave questions once you get your letter you can always get in touch with me viaemail at [email protected].

Thank you very much!

You're very welcome.

I originally wasn't planning on writing a comment on here, but after some careful thinking, I decided that I must. As pre-nursing students, we constantly hear how competitive nursing school is, and how our GPAs and Admission essays should be nearly perfect in order for us to be accepted. And while I understand that these are the only ways for nursing schools to consider us as possible further students, I wanted to reassure you all that who we are is not dependent on our acceptance into a program. The admission board wasnt there the nights we stayed up studying for these pre-requisites, or the days we shuddered when we received a B or a C on our transcript because we had the toughest professor on campus . They weren't there, and , I just want you all to know that we are more than a " piece in these games" , and that whatever the result is, we are an exceptional group of people for taking a risk to be accepted into a limited program. Good luck to all :)

Well said Affinity. I can't help but agree with you. I know how tough it is for students here at UF and I can only assume it's the same at other schools. I have nothing but respect for Nursing students because I know they have taken on one of the toughest undergraduate programs out there. I truly wish to echo those good luck wishes to everyone.

also, just as an fyi, iwon't be in the office tuesday so if you email me please give me some time torespond. i'll get back to you as soon as i can wednesday.

Hey guys! gosh I have not been on this site in forever! I just wanted to wish all you guys good luck.. I remember when I was posting on this site a year ago waiting for my letter...
