UF Generic BSN 2011

Published

Hey any pre-nursing students out there who applied for UF Generic BSN fall 2011... i didn't see a thread out there so i figured i would start my own. If there are any current nursing students any advice and what was your GPA getting into the program. Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone.

I'm freaking out!!! did anyone hear that they have a lottery? This is my last school to hear back from! Otherwise I will do an accelerated program which I would rather not do, but what ever it takes. I can't believe how competitive nursing is now... and makes me mad that santa fe students have priority

what do you mean by lottery? I'm confused :/

no, admissions for our program here at uf are not based on a lottery system. i have no idea how or why anyone would have gotten that idea.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the end goal is becoming a nurse. No matter which road we take to get there, we all want to be a part of this beautiful profession and make a difference in people's lives. GOOD LUCK to everyone in this chat...

Well said, bigdreams23. I couldn't agree more.

Good luck to you too :D

that was suppose to be a smiley face :D:D

I noticed on last year's thread that some of the applicants had holds on their registration just before they got their letters. The hold said that they needed to talk to a pre-nursing adviser before they could register. I don't have a hold on my record, but what does it mean if they did have a hold?

at this point, the fact that you don't have a hold means nothing. if a uf student isn't admitted to the major a hold will eventually be placed on their registration but we won't do this until well after they have received a decision letter.

I applied to the generic BSN program as a transfer student from USF. I never received any email that my application had been received or that it is under review, did anyone revive an email such as this? Also, has anyone received any word as to their acceptance?

I don't think they notified us if our applications were received. I e-mailed the nursing adviser after I submitted mine to make sure it was received and I got a reply. But I don't think they notified us unless we asked. Last I heard was that the CON were finished making their decisions and were preparing the letters.

Does anyone know if we will receive the letter in the mail first, or if it will be posted online immediately after the decisions are made?
