UF Generic BSN 2011

Hey any pre-nursing students out there who applied for UF Generic BSN fall 2011... i didn't see a thread out there so i figured i would start my own. If there are any current nursing students any advice and what was your GPA getting into the program. Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone.

first, no decisions have been mailed out in regards to admissions for the generic bsn program, transfer or otherwise. those decisions have not yet been made. we are currently working on admissions and decisions will be mailed out in june. i do not have a specific date or time that i can give you as to when decisions will be mailed out.

I have been waiting anxiously like everyone else for a response back from UF. I am extremely nervous because I really don't want to go anywhere else and all of my plans will fall apart if I get rejected. I have a 3.8 overall GPA with an AA from a CC, and a 3.97 in all of my pre-reqs. I don't have much healthcare experience, and that's what scares me. I'm just praying and crossing my fingers everyday. And good luck to you! I really don't think you should worry for even a second lol. I know what you mean though about everything falling apart. I have been rejected from 3 out of 4 I've applied to, one of those including my own school which didn't give their own students priority. I was absolutely devastated and definitely shed a fair share of tears lol. UF has been my first pick and main hope from the very beginning, so all we can do is hope and pray that everything works out for the best.

Thanks for the boost of confidence! It's really hard because my planned roommates already got their acceptance letters. It seems like the nursing school takes the longest to make their decisions which is KILLING me :eek: Does anyone know if they base their decision MAINLY on GPA, or do they factor in experience in the healthcare community? Ah, I'm going crazy!

sohopeful27 is right at this point all you can do is hope and pray...... also remember that everything happens for a reason.... so regardless the outcome .... it will be the right one. From what i have heard GPA is a big part (:/).... but i don't think it is the only deciding factor. I've heard different things such as the essay and leadership. I am not absolutely sure but that's what i have heard..... who really knows what goes on with UF decision process....... we can only guess.

I just want to say good luck to all of us applying to this program! Its nice to see people on here keeping others' spirits up and being optimistic while we all anxiously await the selection process. :)

I second that......... the nursing adviser always told me we should find out end of may early June so i expect to receive a letter the second week in June. If not i'll need to start blowing up some phones LOL......... LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I called them yesterday and they're saying letters should be sent out around mid-June. So either this week coming up or the next week :/

thx for letting us know..... at this point i really hope it not like last year were they found out later then expected because some people need to know so they can attend summer session, if they don't get in. I am PRAYING that we find out maybe late next week i am ready to know and move on with my life ... sigh :/

I agree :/ Last year they didn't find out until June 20th!! There are so many things I've had to put on the back-burner for this letter. We need to find out soon.
