UF accelerated BSN 2021

Hey everybody! Anyone applying for the above mentioned program? I haven't had luck finding any threads, in regard to this, for that specific year. I would like to find people who are so we can keep in touch through this process.

You are so lucky to have a family to stay with, I would totally take advantage of that. I don't really have anyone here, not just in FL but in the US overall, and I'm going through a nasty divorce, so this process is even harder. I didn't check out Keiser, but I should. I don't know what I'm eligible for, because my bachelor's is from Russia, and I have Masters from FIU but I paid out of pocket as an international student long time ago. I hope I can get student loans to get me through school. I don't think Broward college has Accelerated program, correct me if I'm wrong, and if I'm what the ef am I not applying there)))

Oh man, that’s so rough. I can’t imagine. Have you gotten citizenship yet or would you still be considered international even though you’ve been here a long time? Broward has an ASN which will get you an RN. Hospitals only really want bachelors now. It doesn’t really matter if your bachelors is in nursing they just want you to have one. Plus you have a masters so you’d get that pay too. Doesn’t have to be in nursing. It’s cheaper too.

I’m just praying we all get in this go round. I would love for us to both get in to Jax. Cause I know what it is to go through an ugly divorce and to be a single mom. I had to put all my nursing stuff on hold because at the beginning of my last pre requisite I went through a divorce from an abusive relationship and had to drop my classes and put my life on hold to reorganize.  I really think we could become friends and become support people for each other.

I know HESI has more sections, so more questions. That's why I'm surprised why everyone says TEAS is harder. Maybe it's the type of questions that are being asked?  But honestly, I feel it's because most people take TEAS, at least down here in Miami.

I felt like nothing that I studied was on the HESI...NOT A THING! The TEAS, I at least felt like the materials I studied correlated with the test. It didn't help that the proctoring site was a nightmare on my testing day for the HESI! The TEAS I took on a campus in 2016, so it was much less stressful. I think that if the circumstances would have been different, maybe I would have had the same, or a better, score on the HESI than I got on the TEAS.

Wait, so what you are saying is that because I already have a bachelor's and master's (2 masters by the way), I can just get an Associate's in Nursing?? My final goal is midwifery, so I wasn't even considering Associate, I thought Bachelor in Nursing would be required to be considered for the Midwifery program.

You have no idea how I can relate to this, I'm in an abusive relationship right now, well, getting out of it. And he is doing everything to hinder my options of getting out and getting my life back. I'm a citizen, so I'm good in that sense, but otherwise, it's a lot to deal with. I'm refusing to put my life on pause because of this, and it's the most infuriating thing for him, well let him burn?  I would love to stay connected! I just have no clue how to do it on this website?

I felt the same way, like to the dot, whatever I studied wasn't there and proctored website took an hour and 30 minutes to get in order and to let me start the test. I'm mentally preparing myself for an option where I have to study for TEAS, but hope for the best!

Hope we find out soon! Good luck to everyone. Does anyone know if you apply for “no preference”, if there is a better chance for one campus versus the other? I’m only saying that since I’m sure there’s a lot of people who applied to Gainesville

So from what I know about the admission process they do it based on points. And there’s a cut off line for those points and whoever is above it gets in. Then they look at what campus you want and if you put no preference they put you at whichever campus has spots

It makes sense to me that it would increase your chances. Basic math just makes sense. But I might be wrong??‍♀️ That’s what I did just give myself better chance. I know for some people is very critical to be in certain spot. Not for me. I hope it helps.

Also, I sent an email to the school last Friday after we didn’t get the results. Mr.Foote replied to me just now. Nothing really specific, but I did reply back to ask about if there is a chance that we won’t hear about decisions until next week. And also if it will come out after 5pm, like we’re expecting. I need to know at least something, have any idea. With all my patience, and I have a lot, I’m starting to get very anxious. Talking to all of you ladies definitely helps!! I’m glad I joined this chat. Though so late?

I will post if I hear back from him.

Hi! Has anyone heard back from the advisor? Really hoping it’s today that we find out ??

I did, actually! No new information, and no date, unfortunately ? They're working as fast as they can, the advisor told me. That sounds like it could even be next week or beyond?

I don't want to be pessimistic, but it seems like saying in our minds that it won't be until the end of the month that we find out might be helpful? Then if it comes out earlier, we'll be pleasantly surprised? That's my game plan for the moment.

Hopefully we find out before May, haha ?

What about finding housing and then doing fingerprints, drug tests and vaccinations? Having it done in this small of a time frame would be so unrealistic if we don’t find out by Friday to me. ?

I 100% ageee with you, there’s sooo many things to do that 1 month of notice just doesn’t suffice. I feel like it’ll definitely be before Friday.
