UF accelerated BSN 2021

Hey everybody! Anyone applying for the above mentioned program? I haven't had luck finding any threads, in regard to this, for that specific year. I would like to find people who are so we can keep in touch through this process.

It is completely unrealistic of them to expect us to have all of this done by may. Especially the fact we need to find housing. This is stressing me out more than applying in the first place

Ong yes, the thing that’s getting me the most upset is the housing. Do they think we’re gonna live under a bridge?! Like I’m getting so stressed about finding a place to live in LOL

Exactly! Like I have an apartment thag I need to sublease if I need to move to Jacksonville. My boyfriend lives there so I can stay with him for a bit if I need to but I’d rather have my own place. It’s ridiculous

I got an email from Mr.Foote yesterday, and basically, he didn't give ANY hint on when it will be released. I did specifically asked if we should expect it to go over to next week, but he didn't reply with yes or no.. Neither he said anything about the timing if it will be released during the day or after 5 pm. 

I'm sure he is not at liberty to disclose any information; I'm sure it is department policy. I'm beyond curious to know what happened. This is very unusual, and Covid might be an explanation, but not to this extent. Covid has been with us for a year now; it's an old and, in a way, invalid excuse at this point. So I think something did happen, but we might never find out what.  

I truly hope it won't be until the end of the Month; it would be absolutely bizarre and truly unfair to all of us; we have lives to plan, families to take care of, and they should understand we are coming from different cities and we all need to settle. 

Oh... I'm venting at this point. Thank God we have each other to talk here, or I would go completely crazy on my own.

Preach girl. The same thing happened last Summer with the regular nursing school admission letters. My friend who applied said they didn’t find out till almost the end of June when they usually find out in may. UF has definitely started becoming very unorganized and they can’t keep using covid as an excuse. My boyfriend got a job offer in North Carolina and I need to know if I got into UF because If not I’m applying to a program up in NC. But I can’t do that until I know for sure about this.

Wow! So it is not the first time this has happened. Urgh.. When in May were they supposed to find out last year? End of the month like for us? I truly hope it is not the case. Seriously. 

I will also need to make up my mind soon on other applications and take TEAS. I don't want to register and pay for TEAS before I know if I'm accepted or not. 

What school in NC would you apply to?

I’m looking at UNC and Duke. I was supposed to apply to Duke for Summer but the people who were supposed to write my rec letters didn’t so ??‍♀️ But I really want to go to UNC if I don’t get into UF

That's super valid! I feel wary of spending another Friday refreshing my email over and over, but that's just me personally. I hold out a small amount of hope that they'll notify us by the end of the week, but the advisor didn't say anything that made me confident in believing that ? Just that they're working to finalize decisions as quickly as they can and that they've had setbacks. I do hope we find out soon, so that everyone can decide on other programs and find housing for this one! Seems silly to think they'd only give us a month to get everything together.

Exactly how I feel, I'm not holding my hopes up for this Friday at all. Though, me and my bottle of white are gonna be there anyway?

Hope everyone’s doing well, just letting y’all know my email response to Ken which was basically the same. No new info. just that they’re working as quick as they can to finalize all decisions. I am no longer expecting to hear a response back by this Friday. I am so over this and am very disappointed in the level of disorganization and being told not this week, but next week we’ll know... It’s so frustrating to be told the same thing over and over again and not seeing the results change. Ken is super nice and I know he’s doing his absolute best. I’m sure it’s not easy for him either bec ause he sounded like he’s ready to send emails out now; however, he’s being held back by the people above him which really sucks....

I wonder if maybe theres a higher up that we can email, instead of Ken? Like the dean?

You can try but you probably won’t get a response ? whoever it is holding back them from sending out the letters obviously doesn’t care about the fact that we all have to find living arrangements and get our testing and vaccines done in a timely manner. It’s super inconsiderate of them.
