Hey everybody! Anyone applying for the above mentioned program? I haven't had luck finding any threads, in regard to this, for that specific year. I would like to find people who are so we can keep in touch through this process.
I’ve heard the TEAS is harder. If I’m not accepted, I’m going to apply to UNF. Their deadline is June 15 I believe for an August start date. But that requires me to take the TEAS and to study for a whole new test. I’m not looking forward to that. I got an overall 95 on the HESI, but I put so much work into it and I just really don’t want to do that again.
it stinks that we can’t exchange contact info on here. IF I am accepted to the Jax campus, I will create a facebook private group for us, so that we can all talk one on one and create a support system for each other.
Just now, Elizaveta S said:Wow, thank you! I think I saw it somewhere during my research, but this is very helpful, feedbacks from real people are the best))) Thank you!!
You're welcome! Let me know if you need anymore info when you get there. My twin has a 14 year old and a 16 year old. Her boys have never went to the schools that they were zoned for until middle school (only her oldest, her youngest went to PK). I can get in touch with her about the application process. It's always best to hear about it from someone who has been through it. And, she's a nurse at Shands and was an MA there for years, so she could really give you some insight!

I think that I may be the only person that thought the HESI was harder. I got an 88 on the TEAS and an 85 on the HESI.

I’m reapplying to UNF for fall as well!! I applied for Summer but because I didn’t do too well on my TEAS I didn’t get in for their Summer program.

I think a lot of it had to do with the fact COVID was kicking my *** ? when I retake it I hope I do better because I did really win in the HESI

Wow! 95 that's amazing!! I got 82, but frankly, I had 4 days to prepare (personal stuff?) and I'm not a native speaker, though I've been here for 7 years a spoke English for years before that, but the English part was a killer for me. I was just dumbfounded by the questions, it was my lowest score of them all, like 65 or something, I can't remember the details. I'm so not looking forward to taking TEAS, I'm not worried about any section but the English part, its hard for me. And UNF on my list too, Also, FIU, FAU, and USF. I missed the deadline for UCF, also here in Miami we have Barry University, but they have a long list of pre-requisites and I would have to apply for 2022, I hope to start the program this fall maximum.

Considering you got 91 on HESI I'm sure it was about cOVID for you. That stuff is nasty. It sucks you couldn't reschedule though! Have you applied to UCF? When are you going to hear from them?

Second this. I took them when I had COVID too, actually ? the things we'll do to try and get into school!
95 HESI and 85 TEAS ? The HESI just seemed more straightforward to me. It's super interesting to hear how others view those tests!

I know HESI has more sections, so more questions. That's why I'm surprised why everyone says TEAS is harder. Maybe it's the type of questions that are being asked? But honestly, I feel it's because most people take TEAS, at least down here in Miami.

I feel ya. I left English until last cause it was the last one I was worried about. I started the English portion at almost midnight. That was any lowest score. I was so tired that I just started skimming the paragraphs. I had a really good study kit I bought for the science and math parts. I have a BS in math education, so that part was easy for me. If you have to take the TEAS, I’ll post a link of the practice test questions I bought. They were dead on accurate to what was covered on the exam.
I’m from Broward and I’m totally down to move back. My family all still lives there and we have a beautiful house to stay at for free. I’ve looked at FAU and FIU, even Broward College. But I would have to wait so long to start. Keiser College is also an option. You can start almost immediately if you want to pay $25k for your degree. My problem is I don’t qualify for pell cause it’s second bachelors and I’m limited on what I have left for students loans because I went back and got a masters. But you should look into keiser too. My friend went there and graduated. She works in med sure at Memorial West in Pembroke Pines now.

I just saw the part where you said that we can't exchange personal information here?? Really??? Like seriously??? It's not like we're selling something here... ?
Not on the message board we can’t. We’re not even supposed to put names or anything. I’ve seen it’s gotten blocked out a few times where I’ve said Ken or Kianna. I think we can send private messages to some people. Maybe exchange contact info that way. I’ve seen in other years posts that once accepted they created private facebook groups. I think that’s the way to go. I’ll create one for Jacksonville Cohort if I get admitted.

You are so lucky to have a family to stay with, I would totally take advantage of that. I don't really have anyone here, not just in FL but in the US overall, and I'm going through a nasty divorce, so this process is even harder. I didn't check out Keiser, but I should. I don't know what I'm eligible for, because my bachelor's is from Russia, and I have Masters from FIU but I paid out of pocket as an international student long time ago. I hope I can get student loans to get me through school. I don't think Broward college has Accelerated program, correct me if I'm wrong, and if I'm what the ef am I not applying there)))
