UF accelerated BSN 2021

Published

Hey everybody! Anyone applying for the above mentioned program? I haven't had luck finding any threads, in regard to this, for that specific year. I would like to find people who are so we can keep in touch through this process.

For the essay portion on NursingCAS, did you all include include the questions and then respond underneath them or did you just number your responses?

I numbered each question and responded to each.

I just entered my classes manually (only the prerequisites) on NursingCAS and sent in my official transcript to UF. Just to confirm though, do we need to send our official transcript to NursingCAS as well?

I did not send them my official transcripts. I entered all my classes in from my transcripts and sent my official transcripts to UF.

Hey everyone,

I took my HESI yesterday and had a TERRIBLE experience. It was scheduled for noon, but I did not start until two hours later. For some reason my computer was not opening the HESI browser, It basically was denying access to It. My proctor tried to transfer me to technical support, but instead I was transferred back to him and that happened FIVE times. After the 5th time I messaged him and said please help me but instead of helping, he disconnected our chat. I had to completely start over and connect with another proctor but It had already taken an hour so I decided to call the 800 number first. They were absolutely no help and told me to contact HESI. I called HESI and they did not help me either. I was able to start over with a new proctor, but my previous issue was still happening. My second proctor tried everything but could not figure It out. I took It upon myself to try and fix It and allowed access to everything I could find relating to the HESI browser. After what seemed like forever, it FINALLY worked. I was in shock that It finally started and forgot to write down the time that I started. I ended up with a great score, but would have done much better if I had started on time without all of those issues.

For those that haven't taken it yet, definitely know your conversions for the math section. Overall, the hardest section for me was the biology. I wish I kept track of my time or had the ability to go back and review my questions because that definitely affected my score. I haven't taken the TEAS so I can't say which test was harder.

Last thing, I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) a few weeks ago about transcripts and she told me they only need our unofficial transcripts which we input into nursingcas, but I see that people are sending their official transcripts. I'm really confused so I went ahead and sent my transcripts in. Did everyone send transcripts or only input them in nursingcas?

I inputted mine into NursingCAS manually and then also sent them to UF as apart of my postbacc application!

Who did you have your people who are writing your letters of recommendation address the letters to?

I think they just addressed it to the admissions committee at this particular nursing program, but I didn't see what they wrote so I'm not quite sure.

Wait, so do we just need to enter the prerequisite coursework on the "transcript entry" section, or do we need to enter all of our courses?

I entered all of my courses.

Ugh...that is so frustrating! I had trouble connecting with a proctor during my test. I was literally in tears because of the fiasco! I think that I would have scored better, too, had that not happened. ProctorU is horrible!

Does anybody know how UF receives our HESI scores? I am just making sure because the elsevier account is not exactly linked with UF in any way. I just don't know if I should have submitted something.

You should have entered UF's school code when you signed up to take your test. The test would have said UF for the school, I think, in the upper lefthand corner. Then you are taking the test specific to UF and they send the scores straight to them.

Hi,

I’m not sure if this question has been asked already but is the application due by December 1st midnight or December 1st by 11:59 pm?

I'm not sure about that. I would call (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and see if she knows.

I believe it is 11:59 pm 12/01/2020. The deadline in her emails just has a date and no time listed so I am assuming. I would email her though if you are worried. Also if there is a deadline listed, the nursingcas website states that you have until 11:59 pm ET  on the day of the deadline.
