Hey everybody! Anyone applying for the above mentioned program? I haven't had luck finding any threads, in regard to this, for that specific year. I would like to find people who are so we can keep in touch through this process.

When I opened ProctorU, it tested my computer's camera and microphone, took a picture of me, and took a picture of my ID. Then it took me straight to the exam and I was freaking out because I didn't think there was anyone actually proctoring me but I was too scared to click the exit button. I never had to show my room or talk to the proctor so I knew something was wrong. But my camera light was on and there was a notification saying that ProctorU was recording my screen so I just went with it. After a few sections, the green camera light went off and I decided to exit the exam. I waited about 5 minutes to chat with a real person (freaking out the whole time that I might not be able to re-enter the exam) and then they told me my proctor had to let me back in. I eventually was able to download the software where I could talk to a proctor and he said everything was fine but it was a good thing I exited or my exam might not have been valid. Anyways, it ended up alright but I was a distracted during the beginning thinking about how my exam might not be scored. To answer some questions I had about the exam: there is a calculator (it's very basic and you have to hand click the buttons on the screen, but it works). I didn't realize that the math section would have "type in the answer" questions in addition to multiple choice so just be aware of that. My proctor allowed me to have a water bottle on my desk. I was allowed one sheet of blank scratch paper and I used the entire thing front and back. I was told I couldn't take a bathroom break but after my whole debacle, my proctor let me go before I was logged back into my exam. The exam was 3 hours but there is no timer on the page. I also wasn't able to see my laptop's clock so I had no idea how I was doing on timing. The sections aren't individually timed, you just have 3 hours to complete all the sections in any order you prefer. The sections we didn't need to complete weren't shown (Chemistry, physics, vocab). Once I had a proctor, I couldn't see them but I could talk to them through the microphone and text chat. The critical thinking section was like what other people in this group described. It's 30 questions where you have to determine what the best option is for a patient given the circumstances. I just googled quizlets for that section to study and it was very similar. I was given a score for that part during the exam, but my score report doesn't show it. The learning style and personality style sections were each 15 questions and just ask things about how you would describe yourself. Compared to the TEAS, I felt like the questions were harder (except for grammar) but I ended up doing better somehow LOL
Thanks so much for the info! I've been taking practice tests I've seen online and noticed a lot of them had simple add/subtract/mult/divide problems. Do we still have access to the calculator for these or is it locked so we would have to do it by hand?

You have access to the calculator that's embedded in the exam for every section, but you only need it for the math section. It's very simple like you described with just basic functions, but that's all you really need. It's just tedious because you can't type in numbers from your keyboard. You have to use the mouse to click the numbers and the functions so it's a little slow.

I was literally in tears because I thought that my exam started without a proctor and I would be penalized for it! ProctorU really needs to fix that! I thought that it just happened to me, but obviously it's not. I also found the test to be more difficult than the TEAS. I actually scored three points lower on the HESI than I did on my TEAS.
I'm glad it wasn't just me! I have no idea how it even happened, I just followed their instructions and my exam began without a proctor. Because of that incident, ProctorU is the worst proctoring service I've used, however, my proctor was extremely nice and forgiving once I connected with him.

I agree: ProctorU is the worst proctoring service! However, my proctor was amazing, as well.

I called them, but it was a pain finding a phone number! Make sure that you have one handy, just in case you need to call them!
Hi guys!
I'm almost done with my entire application but was confused on the transcript section. On NursingCAS it gives you the option to manually enter your classes or pay $$ for the website to insert the classes in for you, which is something I did not want to pay for when I could do it myself. I also sent in my transcripts into UF with my postbacc application. I read somewhere that transcripts have to be sent into both the NursingCAS application and the school application, does this mean I have to pay the website to upload my transcripts, or does my manually entering them in count? If this post doesn't make sense lmk and ill try to explain it differently! Thanks ?

If you enter the HESI without showing your room or actually talking to a proctor, just know that something is wrong. There should be an exit button in the HESI program, click that and go back to the ProctorU page (don't freak out like I did. Once you connect with a proctor, they'll give you an access code to get back in). Once I got back to the ProctorU page, there was a little icon to message someone, so I just sent a message there for help. It took about 5 minutes for an actual human to start talking to me but once they did, they sent me a link to download the software where the proctor verifies your environment, computer, and ID. My proctor was very understanding and was able to let me back into the exam without a problem.

Manually enter them yourself. It's not hard. At first, I paid to have them enter them. Then I tried doing it myself and realized how easy it was. I had to fight with them and threaten them with the BBB to get my money back. It's a scam. Do not pay them! You can do it yourself easily.

I just entered my classes manually (only the prerequisites) on NursingCAS and sent in my official transcript to UF. Just to confirm though, do we need to send our official transcript to NursingCAS as well?
