UF accelerated BSN Summer 2019

U.S.A. Florida

Hello!

It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.

I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!

I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.

Good luck to all! We got this!

I’ve been a fly on the while reading through this page but might as well join in! Has anyone heard anything about us finding out sooner in February because of our assessment being due 15 days earlier?

Also, best of luck to everyone. I have tried and tried and tried again applying for nursing schools and have continued to get denied so i’m praying this is my lucky one. I hope for the same for you all!

i haven’t heard anything about hearing earlier but that would be so so so great!! this waiting is killing me!

best of luck to you as well! ?

You provide so much insight - you have no idea how much I appreciate this. Do you know how early we should start applying to scholarships?

I want to say that it's fairly soon after, but I'm not positive. Definitely get in touch with the financial advisor, Mrs. Wynne (Kenneth's niece), because she's really great at finding scholarships and other opportunities for those that need them! There's also many more opportunities in the fall and spring so keep that in mind as you begin in the summer.

I have not heard anything about us finding out sooner, but I also have had that lingering thought since our assessments were due back so early compared to the previous year. I have this hope that they come out tomorrow since UF is releasing their freshman admit decisions tomorrow. Probably won't happen, but hey we can hope! ?

My little sister finds out tomorrow about freshman decisions.. I don't know if I am more nervous for her finding out or more nervous because I know our decisions come next ? I think the 15th would be a V E R Y nice *surprise* but UF always seems to stick to the same admissions schedule .. or so it seems. You can bet I will be checking my email on the 15th at 6 p.m. just to be safe though!

Haha, I woke up this morning with the same thoughts - "they prooooobably won't release results today, but maybeee..."

Then again, I feel like when the results come out, it will be at the end of the day (so they don't get spammed with emails right away and people have time to process their results).

I didn’t think it was possible, but I think we are on track for February to be longer than January ? ?????

I’m sure it’s already been mentioned but couldn’t find it when I was scimming over all these pages. How many spots are they offering for each cohort? Also, who all applied to Gainesville and who all applied to Jax? I’m very curious since this forum has been all of us combined!

I applied for both Jax and Gainesville!!

i’m not positive about the number accepted but someone had previously mentioned that 120/400 (or something close to that) were accepted last year (again i could be completely wrong!)

wishing you the best of luck!

Looking at the class schedule, it looks like 40 people are in the latest cohort for Jacksonville and 72 for Gainesville.

There were about 80 people admitted to the Gville cohort and about 60 admitted to Jax last year! You'll lose some people so by the time you graduate you'll probably have about 10 less than that.

For those applying to the Jax campus try to speak with someone currently in the program! We don't know a lot about it in our Gainesville cohort but we've heard some less than flattering things. Not to scare you but make sure you're well-informed going in or you might regret it!

Hi all!

Just checking in and wanted to wish you all the best of luck (my fingers are crossed for each of you)! As someone mentioned, last year, I received my acceptance email in the late afternoon on February 23rd. I know the waiting game is super stressful but just try to hang tight for a little while!

In the meantime, if you have any questions (especially if they're specific to the Jacksonville campus) feel free to message me individually! ?

Hey! I was just wondering if you could give some more information on the program in Jacksonville. I have read many mixed reviews about it. What is your opinion of the program?
