UCSF MEPN 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, I just wanted to start this new topic for those like myself who are interested in applying to the MEPN program for the 2020 cohort.

I think all the interview decisions came out around the same time. I got an invitation for AGPCNP yesterday around 1:30pm. Is there anyone else for AGPCNP on the 24th?

To those who didn't make it, I'm so sorry. It sucks. Competition sucks.

The email stated “fewer than 150”

I'm surprised to hear they actually gave out a solid statistic regarding interviews. Do you know if that's across all MEPN specialties or just the one you applied for? Or the total applicants that number is out of?

Not quite sure as it did not specify.

Hey since we are still in the process I am a bit hesitant to share my stats as I think they Are very peculiar to my life story. However I’ll be honest and tell you it definitely goes beyond Good grades. My gpa was pretty high but I think where I put the most emphasis was my resume, goal and personal statement. I tried to let them see the whole picture and what mental health meant to me as a person and community member. Whatever I said I aspired to do in my goal statement I made sure I backed it up with what I had done in my life to affirm my interest. Nurse practice to me goes beyond the clinical and I made sure to tell them specifically what I wanted to do beyond that and why UCSF was the perfect place for me to learn that.in My personal statement I really delved deep into my intimate fears and let them know how everything led me to the door step of UCSF. In a more mental way I basically pictured the 10 seats that maybe are available to psych mepn candidates, mentally pulled one seat and let them know why I deserved that seat, what UCSF could do for me and what I could also do to promote the schools mission. Hope that helps. Best of luck to everyone!! See you all in January!

I definitely understand! You still provided so much insight and I truly appreciate it! Thank you ❤️

Hey everyone, thanks for your interest in my previous post. Just want to let you know that I am so open to helping anyone with this application process.

If you are wanting to see my goal statement I can send that information out once I have gone through the interview process and found out my outcome. I just want to make sure my story, goals, and blood sweat and tears are being carefully handled.

Thanks for your interest! And Manifest your dreams of achieving, it works. You can do this. All the best!

I have been asked to interview - so lost and nervous... anyone in SF/Bay Area want to meet up to go over possible interview questions/meet?

For those who didn't receive an interview invitation... keep moving forward. This isn't the end. If I'm not accepted, I'll apply again, I'll apply to other programs.. its not necessarily me, I may just not be what they need right now. But have hope and faith.

I did not get an acceptance or a denial. Feeling a little weird right now. Wondering if this happen to anyone?

Hi guys,

I received an update and have been invited for an interview (AGPCNP)! Mine is on the 31st.

To those who have yet to receive anything, I hope you get updates. To those who did not get a chance to move forward, I am sorry - but just as the others have mentioned, this is not the end of your journey. Keep going and keep pushing forward.
