Hello!
I know this is a bit early, but I'm planning to apply to the apply to the UCSF MEPN program (among a few others) this summer/fall. I've seen similar forums for past application periods, and thought it might be nice to get one started so we can start to bounce ideas and questions off each other.
Has anyone been to an open house? Any information worth sharing?
Hi everyone! Those of us in the current MEPN class, as well as some former MEPNS and current MSN students, are looking forward to meeting you tomorrow (and next weekend.) Don't worry about being formal at all, we're happy to be here to answer your questions. Remember that we were in your shoes a year ago!
@holahawaii, just breathe and take a second to think. Based on what I am reading in this forum it doesn't sound like they will try to stump you with situational questions that are head scratchers. They want to get to know you! Just relax and I am sure that you will kill it.
I just tell myself that I am going to go in that room and give it my best shot. The two people interviewing us are PEOPLE! They will go home that evening and do things that we all do, pet our cats, dogs, make dinner, watch TV, poo, sleep! I'm putting myself in a super positive place right now, with no negative thoughts :) I know I will be nervous minutes before entering the interview room, but we are all qualified applicants that have made it this far.
and thank you so much kaykay210 for your encouragement.
For those of you who drove to your interviews a couple weeks ago, what was parking like around campus in the morning? I will be staying with a friend nearby tonight and driving to campus for the morning interview block, and I'm just curious how bad street parking was or if you found any areas that had spaces available. And is it metered there?
As a backup plan I will just pay the $30 to park in a lot but would prefer not to if I could avoid it!!
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement, advice, and information about tomorrow... Practicing some tonight, but mainly going to try to relax. Been wearing myself out being touristy in SF so I will definitely be in bed early tonight and be up super early tomorrow to give myself some time to relax! Good luck to everyone and don't forget your power poses

The questions were primarily about nursing as a field, and your motivation, experience, and goals. They didn't seem to want to get to know me as a person much, and there were no situational behavioral questions.
Also, they said that notifications will go out in late February by email, not snail mail. The email notification will prompt you to log in and check your status online through the UCSF graduate school applicant portal.
