UCSF MEPN 2016

Hello!

I know this is a bit early, but I'm planning to apply to the apply to the UCSF MEPN program (among a few others) this summer/fall. I've seen similar forums for past application periods, and thought it might be nice to get one started so we can start to bounce ideas and questions off each other.

Has anyone been to an open house? Any information worth sharing?

Hey everybody, I got my letter in the snail mail today (just got home and checked). I was invited to interview for the AGNP track. Hope to meet some of you in person on interview day - for Bay Area locals, the interview date seems to be January 22nd.

Dear PPMM,

I just wanted to say how sorry I am that you didn't get an invite but that with stats like yours you are going to end up in an amazing nursing program that you love. There is no rhyme or reason as to why some candidates get interviews and others don't, and it certainly isn't a reflection of how great an applicant you are. I suspect the FNP program is the most competitive and there are many outstanding candidates - like yourself - who are turned away. After the interviews, more of us will be winnowed down. There are many roads to get where you are going, and I am confident you will be a great success. I wish you all the best!

I received my rejection letter for the AGNP track today. I am a little heart broken but not surprised based on the fact that some applicants with amazing stats were also not invited to interview. I still have a few programs I am still in the running for.

Rarely anything worth wanting is ever achieved easily. We all worked hard to get to this point and will continue to work hard to achieve our goals.

Hi guys,

Long time lurker but just wanted to say, if it's your first time applying and you got rejected don't be let down. Apply again!

I applied last year and got denied but re-applied this year and was accepted for interview! One big thing is they want to see that you are committed. So don't be too let down if this is your first time applying!

Wish you all good luck! Excited to meet some of you at the interviews. I applied for the AGNP-OEH route. Anyone else?

@SBCvicen - you're not the only one. My mail was delivered today and still no letter ... I'm down in LA which isn't too far, so I'm surprised it hasn't arrived. Oh well, so the wait continues ...
