  1. Can someone forward me the slides also? [email protected] Thanks! :)
  2. @FutureNPisME i tried responding to your private message but it won't let me respond for some reason! Are you a part of the Facebook UCSF MEPN group? If so, you can find me on there!
  3. Hi Everyone, This thread is great! I am currently deciding between UCSF and Columbia and cannot decide!! Here are my thoughts on each program: Columbia: Pros: You come out with a DNP. I've been talking to many NP's and reading articles (like this one: https://www.aanp.org/images/documents/publications/doctorofnursingpractice.pdf). We may eventually need a DNP degree, so it seems like a major plus that Columbia offers that. Also, it's an IVY league school. It is ranked #4 as a whole university and #11 for their nursing program. Cons: Large classes & the dropout rate mentioned in the thread above. Also, I have no idea where I would live. UCSF: Pros: Small class & extremely reputable program. Program is extremely promising. Ranked #2 for the nursing program. Cons: Does not offer DNP If anyone has more pros/cons i would LOVE to hear them. I am having a really tough time deciding!
  4. does anyone have the link to past MEPN threads that shows when final notifications were sent out in past years? I remember seeing it somewhere but I can't find it now.
  5. @emara9 i have just been looking at different websites for possible nursing interview questions and preparing answers for them. These are some pretty good questions to start with: https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/16-common-nursing-962531.html What's everyone else doing?
  6. Hi All, For those of you who have received invite for interview, has anyone been given any further information about the interview day? i.e what time we need to be there, ect? Thanks!
  7. Hi @all_dogs_eat_kale, I received my invite this year after reapplying. My advice for you would be to take a little time away from thinking about the application and revisit it in a couple months. I found that after a year my views on nursing had changed quite a bit due to my increased experience in the field. I would work on getting as much experience as you can in the medical field and write a new statement of purpose essay. I don't think your GRE score is as important as your statement of purpose and letters of rec. I redid both my essay and letters of rec which I think helped me a lot. I didn't redo my GRE. Also, if you live in the bay area, working and/or volunteering at UCSF helps a lot. If you don't live in the bay area, working or volunteering with undeserved populations is very important. Lastly, re-applying is a long process, it takes a lot of dedication to redo the essays and stick with going back to school. They want to see you are passionate and confident about going back to nursing school, so don't give up on your dreams of becoming a nurse! Happy Holidays.
  8. The interviews will most likely be at the Parnassus campus. So find a place close to there. In the past they have all been at Parnassus.
  9. Hi guys, Long time lurker but just wanted to say, if it's your first time applying and you got rejected don't be let down. Apply again! I applied last year and got denied but re-applied this year and was accepted for interview! One big thing is they want to see that you are committed. So don't be too let down if this is your first time applying! Wish you all good luck! Excited to meet some of you at the interviews. I applied for the AGNP-OEH route. Anyone else?
  10. does this mean we will be receiving email notices or snail mail notices? thanx!
