I thought I would start a new thread. I've read quite a bit of the activity from previous classes and I thought it would be great to get a community of support started for those who have applied for UCSF's MEPN program... not just for us now, but for the future applicants who will read our posts! (: (the added bonus is this thread will be in gender neutral territory
Would love to hear the stories of folks who are applying to nursing programs (UCSF and otherwise).
I just called and they said apologized for the delay and said they will be sending out an email either today or tomorrow, which will be followed by a hard copy letter in the mail. Good luck! Is anyone on here deciding between UCSF and OHSU for midwifery?

So I hadn't received anything yet today and I just called the Nursing Student Affairs office. They apologized for the delay and said that emails should be sent out "soon" followed by a hard copy letter. Before I could ask for a definition of soon he offered to read me my decision over the phone.... "I'm happy to inform you that we do intend to offer you admission.."!!!!!! I got in! I know this will probably create a calling stampede but everyone has been waiting long enough. Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you all this summer!!!! :)

Yay, Sandman! Congrats! The same thing happened to me yesterday afternoon but I didn't have time to post...I was accepted to the ANP program! Can't wait to meet you all and begin this awesome journey together. Get excited!!!!!

Ok, so I know I said I was going to wait, but I really just couldn't....... So I called... and I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am BEYOND excited and have been hopping up and down now for about 5 minutes!! Hurray hurray!!
Ok, now for those of you still waiting- after I received the news I asked him what I should tell the rest of you waiting online here (he was well aware of allnurses!). He said that if you haven't heard anything yet it's perfectly fine to call in to get your info. He said due to some reorganizing in the department, etc. notifications have been delayed (though emails from the university should go out today or tomorrow followed by hard copies), and so though it's not usually their policy to do this over the phone, they would be happy to do it this year. So if you're unsure or nervous about calling, don't be! He said he would be happy to do it for anyone waiting for news! I hope we can hear some more goods news from everyone else today!! Good luck guys, and I hope this was somewhat coherent, i'm still basically jumping in my seat!
Hoot! Hoot! So happy people are hearing good news...Congrats, mpcali. I think I met both you and sandman after our interviews-- we were in the "forgotten group" that didn't get a tour. I was the blond chatty girl.
I also called and found out I got accepted to the FNP specialty!!!! And I echo not being afraid to call: the office was very kind and helpful. They know we're all waiting nervously online here.

I got an email saying they're soooo sorry for the delay and that unofficially they're saying they fully intend to offer me admission. Woo hoo! I think.... THis whole thing has been so bizarre! I'm scared to even believe it's true! I just called, but the office closed like 20 minutes ago. My hands are shaking!!!
MPCali, MPHGirl, Lindzer, MLIS2MSN, ebowman CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Hhaha MPCali I gave you about 2 hours after my post that you would call :) Im so glad you got good news. It may sound crazy but there is a slight possibility I will not be attending. I got into UCLA's MECN program which would be a lot more convenient, cheaper, shorter etc... But... its UCSF!! Its like 80/20 for UCSF right now. Am I the only Critical Care/Trauma track person on here? Again, Congrats everyone and its been awesome to have a place to commiserate and vent and celebrate!
