I thought I would start a new thread. I've read quite a bit of the activity from previous classes and I thought it would be great to get a community of support started for those who have applied for UCSF's MEPN program... not just for us now, but for the future applicants who will read our posts! (: (the added bonus is this thread will be in gender neutral territory
Would love to hear the stories of folks who are applying to nursing programs (UCSF and otherwise).
Thanks!
I hear you about being a bit frusterated with them. I'm surprised how disorganized they seem to be. I mean they can have whatever system they want but if you explicitly promise to postmark decisions by march 1st at orientation then do it. Or at least send out a mass email explaining the situation. We as applicants are expected to break our backs to meet deadlines! But in the end it's still a great school and I'm still gonna check my mailbox everyday until I get something... But like you I am also considering another school if only because I have no choice at the moment...
UCSF has updated their website, now listing ACNP as the first filled specialty. I hope this means they are that much closer to getting those decisions out!
Are any of you applicants to the MSN program for those with a BSN/RN? I'm trying to get an idea of how many apply/how many accepted and when we might expect to find out (since the deadline is much later than for the MEPN program--it wasn't until Feb. 1).
If anyone has the courage to call, let us know how it goes. I hope you don't end up facing the wrath of the admissions dept! I might muster up the strength this afternoon if I still haven't heard anything. This is such a bum deal...My deposit is due today for my second choice. Could be a waste of 500 smackaroos.

Anyone applying for entry to the MSN program- for those who have BSN & RN already? The deadline was Feb. 1 so I'm wondering if anyone know when we should find out, and also if there are interviews (specifically for the FNP specialty)?
Thanks, and I wish everyone the best!
