  1. ChayaN- thanks for posting all of that info about the text books. As for the pharmacology class, did people buy those pre-made flashcards to help them do all of the memorization? I am going to be travelling for a little while before school starts and I am wondering if this might be a helpful way to get a head start. If so, do you have any recommendations for those, or is it pretty standard information, and any version will do? OR, is it easiest to study straight from that text book? Thanks again for all of your help.
  2. Thanks ChayaN- That's really helpful. Could you give us the name/author of the textbooks you used or are using for those classes? Are they required texts, or can you use any updated pharmacology text? I would love to get a head start on that reading as I know I will be totally overwhelmed this summer when it's dumped on us. Do you know if they use the same text from year to year? Thanks!
  3. Congratulations to people who are (finally) hearing the good news! Will those of you who hear please share any information they gave about when deposits are due? I am on a waitlist and this information would be really helpful! Thanks so much! Good luck!
  4. Hi- Here are a few answers to questions, I hope this helps. The letter I received was just an email, no attachments or links or anything. My letter wasn't an acceptance- it was a waitlist option with information about being an alternate. There wasn't any reference to a hard copy or anything coming in the mail (although it did refer to filling out the enclosed form if you want to be an alternate... which didn't exist in the email form... so maybe something else is sent later. Not sure.) I just checked- my online status did not change- it still says, "under review." Hope this helps those of you who are waiting and wondering... good luck!
  5. I know... emails were entirely out of the blue. I didn't apply to FNP, I am midwifery.
  6. Hey everyone! I just received an email from UCSF with my admissions decision. Just wanted to let you all know to check those emails!
  7. I'm gonna chime in here too! I interviewed on the 29th (a.m. session) and remember the dean saying emphatically that they would have the letters postmarked March 1. I know that doesn't mean it is written in stone, but he made it sound like their moral and ethical duty to have them done by then! Given that, I think the march 15 info is wrong. Well, at least I really hope so!! Good luck everyone!
  8. Hi all! I was accepted to the ABSN program starting this summer and am eager for any and all information I can get. I have also read some of the negative stuff online about the program but would love a few more perspectives. Any current students willing to share, especially anyone who has something good to say :)? I'm also curious about where current students live (like what are good neighborhoods near the school) and what the rents are like for students who live off campus but near Downstate. Anyway, I'm gonna keep a positive outlook for now- congrats to everyone who got in! Hopefully we'll meet in a few months! Good luck to those still applying.
