UCSD October 2010 New Grad Program

I have applied to UCSD's Oct 2010 New Grad Program, and wanted to start a thread pertaining to such. I applied 2 weeks ago, and today received an email that my resume has been forwarded to a hiring manager. I was wondering what progress others have made, and if anyone can share their current or previous experiences with their hiring process. Thanks! :)

Thanks for your response. I called Nurse Recruiter last week, and she told me that the unit managers will update me as soon as they review my application and references. So, I've just been patiently waiting and wondering if I got the job. I realized last Friday that it's really been a LONG while since I last heard from them, I'm hoping they weren't going to leave me hanging like this. I shall contact the nurse recruiter on Monday to follow up and hopefully get confirmation.

Thanks for the GL wishes. CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you enjoy working at UCSD Med Center. It really seems like a great place to work with nice managers.

I contacted the nurse recruiter on Monday and she told me that I didn't get the position. I might apply to the January program.

Good Luck with your job search! I'm hopeful that we'll find jobs soon, now that more new grad programs are opening up.

From what I understand, they may not even have any new grad. positions for January. This time it says that we won't hear anything until the end of November, beginning of December. I am not holding my breathe. I have just about given up on "new grad" programs. The questionnaire just helps them thin out applications.

Hey nurselindah,

I noticed that you applied to the ER for the Oct program. Did you end up applying again this time around? If so, did you hear anything from them?

How funny-I just noticed I wrote "not holding my breathe" :lol2: No-I made it to the second around the first time I applied but this time they sent the rejection email just last week. I give up on a new grad

program, seriously!
