  1. Did either of you apply for the Jan program at Hoag? I could never find their new grad positions so I'm wondering if I just keep missing the application deadlines.
  2. NurseLeslie, do you have experience in healthcare and or the ED? I too applied to the ED but didn't get an interview. This is my second time applying and I'll probably apply again for the next cohort. My dream is to be in the ED and I won't give up until I get there but I don't know what else to do. I'm ACLS certified and did my TNCC verification hoping it would help but nothing. Good luck, hope you get To start the new year with good news!!!
  3. Still no email for me... I shouldn't have checked Allnurses. I wasn't even thinking about it now that I know they've sent the rejection emails I'm getting nervous. Good luck everyone, if this wasn't your time just keep trying!! "When the world says "give up", hope whispers "try it one more time"-Unknown
  4. I graduated May 2010 & *got licensed in FL in July. I started applying to jobs 4 months before graduation thinking I would be ahead of the game. Little did I know that there aren't many jobs out there for new grads. I would love to work in ER or PICU but I've applied to every position available. I have applied in multiple states and even cities that I had never even heard of. I've even applied to CNA jobs and NOTHING! I moved to CA after I did my NCLEX thinking I would have a better chance of finding a job here. I haven't even had ONE nursing interview. I am ACLS certified and recently got the TNCC verification. I plan on doing PALS and ENPC as soon as I can afford it. Besides applying to what feels like a gazillion jobs and occasionally breaking down and crying for a few minutes...I've been babysitting, cleaning houses, volunteering with the Red Cross, and I'm about to start a temporary full time job with a marketing firm and maybe pick up a part time at Starbucks. I am happiest when I am busy and my day is completely full of things to do, so this last few months without a steady job have been hell for me. Even though I have not found a RN position I will keep trying and hopefully soon something amazing will happen. 2010 was pretty crappy for me so I'm really looking forward to all the blessings coming my way in 2011. All I know is that I didn't come this far to give up and being an nurse is what I love so I will keep trying. Even if it means I have to keep working odd jobs to pay those big 'ol nursing school loans. Hang in there my fellow nurses, this too shall pass!! :)
  5. Good Luck to everyone!! This is my second time applying too.
  6. Does anyone know when the application for the January program will be available?
  7. I finally heard back from USCD. Unfortunately I'm not getting an interview, I'm very disappointed but definitely not shocked. I guess I'll try again in October. Anyone have any advice on what I can do to even get an interview? I started applying to jobs months before graduating thinking I was going to be ahead of the game... 6 months later still no interview. This is so exhausting!! Good luck to everyone being interviewed!!!
  8. Nurselindah- I'm sorry to hear that. I have applied to just about every residency program in Miami, Chicago and Southern California. It's crazy how competitive it is to get a job. I'm hoping that no news is good news. And I wish you all the luck in the world! Hopefully soon things will turn around and we'll have tons of job offers to choose from :) Passionate4Nursing- this is the first time I apply to UCSD and it's the first hospital I hear anything positive from after applying. I'm thinking positive!!! :) True Nurse25 Congratulations!!!
  9. NurseLindah, I did my last rotation in ER as well. I'm hoping they start letting us know soon. The wait is killing me!! Good luck and please let me know if you hear anything. Passionate4nursing, I guess that means I didn't get picked for ICU?! I don't even know what to think anymore... ER is my first choice so I'm hoping that's where I interview. good luck!! :)
  10. Anyone apply to the ER??? I listed the ER and ICU as my preferences and still haven't heard anything.
  11. I applied at Glendale Memorial but haven't gotten an update. Anyone apply at UC Irvine? I can't find info to contact the nurse recruiter there :/
  12. I received the questionnaire yesterday and emailed it back a few hours later... I'm SUPER nervous!! Good luck to everyone!:)
