UCSD October 2010 New Grad Program

I have applied to UCSD's Oct 2010 New Grad Program, and wanted to start a thread pertaining to such. I applied 2 weeks ago, and today received an email that my resume has been forwarded to a hiring manager. I was wondering what progress others have made, and if anyone can share their current or previous experiences with their hiring process. Thanks! :)

Congrats Apple56 on the job. I received an email today not for references but stating that I wasn't selected. I'm really over looking for a job I don't know what else to do. I've tried to keep my spirits up but its really taking a toll on me.

Congrats to any others who were offered positions as well.

UCSD open a new grad position again in october to start in january. I would suggest you print up a few copies of your resume and bring them directly to managers in the units you are interested in. I've heard have worked for some people.

Yeah that's what the email said to reapply in October. I'll think about it but at this point I'm discouraged.

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back from UCSD. Has anyone heard anything from them? Does anyone know when the actual program begins?

According to HR, the program begins October 19. I have applied to the October program, and I haven't heard anything yet after my interview and references.

Good Luck to everyone still in the running and those who landed positions for UCSD. Unfortunately, no interview for me, the float managers had other candidates in mind to fill those open spots. Guess I have to try again for the Jan program! Id love to hear how the program goes for all you guys!

To Apple 56: Have you heard from UCSD Med Center yet?

It's been almost 2 weeks since my reference surveys were sent, and I haven't heard from managers/recruitment. I'm guessing that I wasn't one of the 9 to be selected since the program starts soon.

Anyway, back to the job hunt I go.

Did you call them to follow up? I got offered the job a couple of days after they asked for my references. Good luck to you.
