USC new grad program 2012
I went to a job fair and the USC rep said that new grad openings will be posted on October 1. So far, I haven't seen anything on New grad positions on the website, but it will probably be up sometime soon.

White Memorial RN Residency Program March 2012
I can't speak for White Memorial, but I would think that a hospital would prioritize an applicant based on how they would respond to certain situations, how they'd treat their patients, and their qualities. I'm sure that there are a lot of employees at White Memorial who have diverse religious backgrounds. I remember from last year's application, White Memorial sent out a questionnaire that had situational/ behavioral questions. And i believe, based on this questionnaire, White Memorial chose who would advance in the interview process.

March 2012 CHLA RN Residency Program
Hi Kwillpassnclex13, I completed the application but I wasn't given the 100 question survey after I submitted. I contacted CHLA recruitment office, but I wasn't able to speak to someone, so I left a message to ask about it. I'm wondering if we were supposed to get it right after we submitted the application. =/

Being let go after not progressing during preceptorship
Reading this totally reminded me of what I went through. MY UD told me the same thing. I was given two weeks to show that I can handle taking care of patients on my own. I felt the same stress and pressure. And I lost weight because of that stress. And here is what I can tell you that my friends told me, when I was sad and crying after my meeting with my UD. It's not the end of the world. Think about what you have in your life. Think about what you learned, your support system, family, food, shelter. If you have read The Alchemist, the message says that "when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." You may have mixed feelings right now but if you reflect and see that you still love nursing despite this situation, then keep at it. God will help you find a place that is better for you, and he will open doors for you if you believe it. I know it's not as easy as it sounds but keep positive, pray, find your support system. Everything will be OK.

White Memorial New Grad 2011
That sounds SO wonderful! I've heard from plenty of sources that the first 6 months -- 1 year may be the most overwhelming for a new grad nurse, so it's nice that you'll have year long training. Plus, I'm glad you feel comfortable with the people you'll be working with. It definitely makes the new grad to staff nurse transition so much easier. I'm happy for you...seems like you landed a perfect new grad opportunity!

White Memorial New Grad 2011
Congratulations jnnkrstngmz! =] Anuong05, If I'm not mistaken, you were offered a position too. Congratulations =] !! May I ask, which floor will you be working on? It's such a huge accomplishment to land a new grad position and in a very good teaching hospital too. Good luck! I believe I will be seeing you in the near future!

White Memorial New Grad 2011
Nurseteee: I wasn't called for an interview. I actually waited a week after my calc test and finally called my recruiter, who then set up interviews for me. If i didn't call, I don't know when I'd receive a call. So, don't give up hope! Give em a call :)

White Memorial New Grad 2011
hello! as far as I know, applicants don't need to bring unofficial transcripts, essay, LORs, resumes. At least I didn't. ooops! But it definitely wouldn't hurt. It will most likely help! According to HR, a couple slots have been filled. But all depends on the unit manager. Some of the unit managers are waiting to interview all candidates before selecting. And I'm guessing interview slots are getting filled quickly, which is probably why Med-Surg was not available. Anyway, still good news that there are plenty of slots open for us. GOOD LUCK! Happy Holidays everyone!

White Memorial New Grad 2011
I have no idea how many people they have selected so far, but I do know that Med-surg is not available according to my recruiter (Med-surg was one of my choices). I also applied to telemetry and pediatrics. Telemetry is hiring two and pediatrics is hiring two.

White Memorial New Grad 2011
Just to update everybody, the nurse recruiter said WMMC is hiring 20 new grads, around 1-2 per unit, and there are 700 applicants.

White Memorial New Grad 2011
=/, I'm sorry you had to go through that mix up. I would have been frustrated myself. But on the bright side, you can still take it next Wednesday :). Just curious but do you know mind sharing what unit your classmate was interviewing for? Thanks for the updates, and good luck on your calculations test and the rest of the process!
