Someone posted a screenshot of a meeting discussing how many new grads they plan to hire and it's like one or two a unit. I didn't even submit my app because I didn't have the preferred qualifications. 🥹

I applied for like 8 positions LOL. I'm doing an externship there so hopefully I'll get an interview at least.

UCSD is notorious for being slow and each unit progresses at its own pace so don't lose hope if you don't immediately hear anything! One of my friends applied for the march cohort and she didn't get an email for an interview until almost two months after her status updated to "referred to hiring manager."

I've been referred to hiring for 3 postings out of the 11 I submitted. The others say others more competitive.

congrats! are u an external or did u do any externships there? if u don't mind me asking, what 3 postings have u been referred to hiring?

I'm guessing having "others more competitive"  as my status for all my apps is not a great sign LOL. Good luck everyone else!

I only applied to two positions, and one says the same "others more competitive" which I figured for the transition to ED position. I am totally fine with that. The other status changed to referred to hiring manager. I am excited.
