Hi I recently applied for the Spring 2024 cohort and didn't see a thread yet. How is everyone's application going?

I applied for NICU and peds unit. Got the initial email that my app was being forwarded to hiring manager, but my application still says under review and no contact for any interviews... safe to say it's a no? ?

No, as long as your application states that it is "under review," I wouldn't give up hope.

Does anyone know the email/contact info of any managers in PICU? I forgot to ask and could not find their email address:(

I was the person who commented that they got a rejection...which I did for one of the ICUs. I received an email.

It's really hard to get into UCLA, so don't feel too bad! Hoping you the best of luck on your other applications to other hospitals.

7. And I find it weird how HR is saying no rejections sent out but I literally got one?

honestly HR can only say so much.. it really comes down to the unit managers and their own timelines. When I applied last year... I didn't get notified until the last day and it was a "rejection" but they kept telling me its a good sign if I'm still "in review"

Finished the interview with UCLA SM today. 2 people on the panel and they said HR will get back to candidates in 10 days.

Hi guys! I just finished my interview with SM5NW (Geriatrics).

I feel I did very well. I made sure they knew I am not planning to get a job as an NP anytime soon. I told them why I went for the APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) program instead of the MECN (Master's Entry Clinical Nursing) program with UCLA. Hopefully that helped ease their minds about me leaving soon because that was the topic where they put the most emphasis. The rest of the questions were more general. They were all super nice, very friendly, and approachable. They all took turns to ask questions and had encouraging feedback after each of my responses. I felt more relaxed as the interview went on and finished with two questions only because I looked at the time and we were right at the time limit when they finished answering my second question. I could tell they were happy about the questions I had asked so I did not think it was necessary to ask anymore. If anyone has any questions, let me know. Good luck everyone!
