  1. Just closing the loop. My application showed "in review" until after 5:00 p.m. today. Not sure at what time changed to "reviewed/alternate selected," but when I checked it again at 6:00 p.m. it had already changed.
  2. Yesterday I read a post where the participant said they had called to find out their status so I email them instead. Both HR peeps came back with "we are still reviewing applications." I guess I have one more week to be hopeful. My application still states it is "in review." I interviewed on 11/17 for SM 5NW (Med-Surg/Geriatrics).
  3. I'm surprised they didn't pick you the first time since they already knew you. I'm glad the second interview went well and that you are now in! Yay!
  4. Yay! CONGRATULATIONS! Was this your first time applying?
  5. Congratulations on making it to the second round! Did they say when they will be making offers? I haven't heard anything yet after interviewing on 11/17.
  6. I am a UCLA alumni, APRN program class of 2023 and applying for Med-Surg; interview on 11/17, haven't heard anything yet, but was told not until after Thanksgiving. My application still says it's "in review."
  7. I see, thanks for sharing! I was wondering because I was interviewed by four people and they did not mention anything about a second interview. How will you be prepping for second interview? Do you think they'll be asking more scenario questions?
  8. Congratulations! How many people interviewed you the first time?
  9. Some of us interviewed on Friday 11/17 which was the last day to interview for some units. I was told that we will start getting interview results after Thanksgiving but not before. If you go back on this thread, you'll see one person stating she received an offer and another one a rejection. Not sure how that happened.
  10. NOTE: The platform removed the interview questions I had posted in the comment above. I was trying to remove the whole thing after I received notification, but I guess removing posts isn't an option. Just wanted to post this note because after it was edited, it doesn't really make sense. Hope the reader isn't confused about my comments as most of the content was removed by an administrator.
  11. Hey, what unit did you interview for? I just finished mine as well. How did yours go? How did it go? Mine was at 1:30 p.m.
  12. Hi guys! I just finished my interview with SM5NW (Geriatrics). I feel I did very well. I made sure they knew I am not planning to get a job as an NP anytime soon. I told them why I went for the APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) program instead of the MECN (Master's Entry Clinical Nursing) program with UCLA. Hopefully that helped ease their minds about me leaving soon because that was the topic where they put the most emphasis. The rest of the questions were more general. They were all super nice, very friendly, and approachable. They all took turns to ask questions and had encouraging feedback after each of my responses. I felt more relaxed as the interview went on and finished with two questions only because I looked at the time and we were right at the time limit when they finished answering my second question. I could tell they were happy about the questions I had asked so I did not think it was necessary to ask anymore. If anyone has any questions, let me know. Good luck everyone!
  13. No, as long as your application states that it is "under review," I wouldn't give up hope.
  14. There are plenty of contributing factors to get picked: Unit, openings available for that unit, how many applicants are actually up there in the recruitment hierarchy, and applicant performance during the interview, just to name a few. Don't lose hope just yet! It ain't over until the fat lady sings!
  15. Hi guys! Since we haven't received a response from the participant who said has already received a rejection notification, I decided to email the person who sent out the invitations to interview about this claim. The person who answered (initials N.R.) stated that as far as he is concerned, no one has sent out rejection notices. He confirmed that for some units, the last day to interview is tomorrow, Friday, November 17, 2023, but there are a couple of units who will be interviewing until the last week of November. Therefore, he said it is too early to be expecting rejection letters. Regarding the one participant who stated that she has received an offer already, he said that could be possible, but as far as he knows, no unit has finalized their decisions. Therefore, offers should be expected after Thanksgiving, but not before that. I also asked him if he could share their recruitment hierarchy. He said that internal applicants will be preferred over external. Also, UCLA alumni have preference; and lastly, those of us who are alumni, if we have a master's we would get preference over an applicant with a bachelor's. Took a few days, but I finally received an answer to share on this thread.
