Specializes in Oncology.

I'm curious about what's going on in oncology...since oncology is my first choice and I'm still hanging out on the waitlist...which is just super awesome fun times! :zzzzz

Hi Freshnewnurse11,

Just a quick update. I accepted the position for CTICU last week. I still can't believe it.

Freshnewnurse11,

I will be on 7W cardiac surgery unit, not CTICU. Thanks for compiling this information though.

Hey Goody86,

Are you going to be in ICU or intermediate care?

Click on the link from UCLA about patient care for more explanation.

Good luck to everyone who is supposed to hear back something today! :) This waiting is driving me crazy and I can't wait to hear something back!

I'm intermediate care. We will be neighbors, so maybe you'll receive patients from the ED and stabilize them, they'll go to surgery, then I'll get them until discharge. lol

Specializes in Telemetry.

I got tired of waiting so I decided to call the UD, she said I did not get the job. I asked her what I could do to improve my chances for next time and she said nothing. I will not apply to UCLA any longer because this is apparently not the way to go to get a job as a new graduate. From my observations they fill the majority of their positions with the internal candidates. I also believe they tend to hire a lot of people from out of state. I will not give up because nursing is my passion and I truly enjoy helping people weather I get paid or not!!! I also believe that when one door closes God opens another door. Good luck to everyone still waiting, I would advice you to call the UD to find out if you got hire. The whole process is so stressful and I am glad it is over so I can now move on.

I am truly sorry to heat that, but I am very positive you will get different job soon. One question though; did you do second person to person interview with UD at the Neuro ICU floor?

Ha Ha Ha. See ya around and good luck!

How come my phone isn't ringing?

So I heard that the UD is going to be making her decisions starting today to Friday. We're suppose to hear anytime this week, but I know it won't be today because I read on some posts that she's interviewing tomorrow. So let's just keep our fingers crossed.
