is your unit director's initials B.A? the one who interviewed you? i dont know if neurosurgery/nticu have the same unit director's

Hi crazycaryl88, the unit director for neurosurgery has different initials. We have different unit directors =). Hopefully you will get a call soon!

Hey Guys!!!

So I did the Talent Plus interview on Tuesday and got a call today to schedule an in-person interview today!!! I'm so excited! My interview is May 24th!!! Does anyone have any advice about the interview process?!?! Anyone else interviewing for the operating room?!?

Haha I agree it was sooo short! They asked me 4 questions then asked if I had any questions, which I had a lot, haha. I forgot to say a lot of stuff I had planned on saying, oops.. They said they were hiring 10 into the PICU, and I should hear back in about 2 weeks for a second interview, which would be a panel interview on the unit. So good luck to you, keep me updated too!

I interviewed for the PICU also...they're hiring 10?!? That's great, I saw other units have been hiring less. RNwannabeLA where are you from? I don't get how they're going to do a second interview for those of us that are out of state...I can't afford another $550 flight :/

Hey JEP2011, congratulations on being offered an interview. I also interviewed at UCLA for the Neuro-ICU and did a 2nd interview now the wait is killing me. My advise to you is to relax and just be yourself.

Yep, that was one question I made sure to ask since I wanted to know what my odds were! And considering they could possibly interview 24 people max in a day, sounds good! I'm from Torrance, like 30 min away. Where are you from? I bet they could make some kind of exception for you since you live far away..

I got a call from the unit director for the Cardiothoracic ICU today. Sad news...it was a rejection. It's sucky to have to start all over, but going to try for USC next. I just wish I knew how I could improve my profile. I have 100 hours in Coronary Criticial Care, I did a summer internship in Belize, I have 3 years CNA experience, and a 3.75 GPA. She said she interviewed over 30 applicants and is only taking 10. Maybe it's because I'm out of state.

She told me she had 9 positions, but I did forget to ask how many applicants. Nevertheless, this was my first interview and I didn't feel it went well, I will take it as experience. Good luck to everyone else and hope you land a job in the CTICU. :)

awesome. you got a 2nd interview? i guess that means i am definitely out of the running for neuro icu. good luck to you though! i guess i didn't give her a good enough impression.

do you think usc will be more selective? i have never heard of the program til you mentioned it.

I have no idea about USC selection process. All I can do is hope for the best. ;)
