I accepted a position on cardiac surgery observation this week! Anyone else who will be in the residency this summer feel free to mssg me. I'll be moving a long ways to LA and looking to meet people!

Wow! congratulations to all who got job offers! you will love it here in L.A., it's awesome.

i wonder if anyone else who interviewed for other ICU's got offers, since it's more than two weeks, I guess I'm out. better luck next year i guess.

My application status has not changed yet...still says "we have contacted you for an interview."

Yes, 7 West. I wouldn't get discouraged. I don't think the manager has contacted anyone else yet. Said she wouldn't be back in the office until Tuesday.

Well that's awesome! Why don't you think she called anyone else yet? She invited me back the very next day after my interview to tour the unit and meet the CNS, and then she said shed call me this week.. But she didn't. So I'm pretty discouraged

Well, I'm relocating, so he said I could either start with the July/August group or Octoberish. Did he tell you how many people he hired? I got the impression it was like 3-5 people X 2 starting dates.. so maybe 8 or so? Also, did he clarify if it would be July or August?

Congratulations!!! Did you just find out today? Cuz I know he was going to do the call backs on Monday or today, I had my call on Monday. Awesome! My first MICU friend =)

Well, I'm relocating, so he said I could either start with the July/August group or Octoberish. Did he tell you how many people he hired? I got the impression it was like 3-5 people X 2 starting dates.. so maybe 8 or so? Also, did he clarify if it would be July or August?

October is an option for you? Any idea how that would work with the residency program?

I have no idea... he just said I could start after the first MICU group finishes their 12 weeks of preceptorship. But I might do the first group if I can get everything together and moved in time. Are you starting in the ICU too?

and it's tentative.. not like an official date.. but is there one big class that all the new grads do? because I was under the impression that each specialty has kinda their own schedule?? no idea though

Hey everyone!! Congrats to all of you who got interviews and to those who got job offers! This is kind of an awkward question but I am just curious what kind of qualifications the people who got interviews had. BSN or ADN? High GPA? Previous healthcare work experience?

I am graduating with a BSN in May, 3.75 GPA, ACLS certified, preceptorship in cardiac critical care, and was a volunteer at a hospital for 2 years. I know TONS of people applied and that many were more qualified than me. I guess I'm just curious what made the people who got interviews stand out.

Um I'm interviewing with the NICU! I graduated with a BSN degree. I had a 3.5 gpa, I was the mentorship director for my nursing program's Nursing student Association (NSA), Umm... Inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau( International nursing honor society), recieved NSA's leadership and management award, nominated for student of the year, and BLS certified! But I also applied within the first 30 min the application was up on their website.:redbeathe

I found out when I went back to my 2nd call back. They offered me the job during that interview (18th). I also got asked to start in 3rd week of May ( I guess since I already have my license), but I was under the impression I would be starting July...weird. Anyways, I did not ask about how many ppl will get onboard, but at least i know i'm not alone! where are you moving from?
