For those who interviewed today, was the math assessment only simple math or did it also involve drug calculation questions?
I'm not sure. The 20 questions I got were basic +/- division problems. Very simple! and kinda makes me feel stupid. You only get 6 minutes to do as many as u can i think.
I thought Santa Monica might be a little less competitive since Ronald Reagan is Magnet and has received all the prestigious awards but obviously there is no method to this madness!!Did they say if they'll be doing another round of interviews? Or just hiring from this time around? Good luck to you both! I'm sure you did fine Zippy7 :)
The unit director I met with today gave me her card asked me to contact her directly to set up a second interview within the next 2 weeks. I have no idea if this is how every unit works so don't freak out if this does not happen to you. I'm sure each UD has their own unique process when it comes to hiring.
Good luck everyone!
Wow! I know we're not allowed to post names here... can you send me a private message if you can and let me know who your UD is. I kinda wanna see if I should stop hoping to hear back completely. Thanks!

I am new to this website so I can't PM you. From what I read you interviewed for Santa Monica ICU and I interviewed for an ICU at Ronald Regan. I don't want to say which one specifically in case the other people that interviewed for the same unit are on this message board but did not have the same outcome as me.
Don't give up hope, as I said before, I am sure each unit director does things differently. They are interviewing a TON of people from what I gathered so give them some time to sort through everyone and hopefully you will get a job!

That happened to me too. I'm with you in not wanting to mention the unit name in case others are different. From what I'm reading it seems that every UD has their own unique way of interviewing and how they will respond...
Good luck everyone!
I just wanted to give those chiming in a lot of kudos for your review and assessment of the interview process. Give yourself a pat on the back whether you felt good or bad or in the middle at this point. You have at least gotten thru the first round and able to experience that and share that.
There are those that may never get to go thru that (many still waiting for a call or e-mail) in today's beaten up and extreme tight job market for nurses.
Good luck to everyone, called or not called.

I applied for Ronal Reagan MICU. I brought a porfolio just in case like resume, transcript, letters of recommendation, copies of lincense/certs. I think it depends on the unit director. Thank God mine seems really nice. The bulk of my questions seem to be quite different from other interviews that I've been to. The interviewer asked me to describe my favorite clinical instructor and favorite clinical rotation in 3 adjectives. Then he analyzes my response. The rest were just basic why nursing etc. I was expecting clinical scenario questions because I've been preparing for several weeks for them.
Anyone who also interviewed for MICU RR? Just wanted to know if these were the same questions asked for other interviewers?
