Hi PatientRN! I think I saw that you received a call in another post...I guess my thought process was just that since you listed m/s as your first maybe they called you with the m/s group and haven't called the psych first choice group yet. Or maybe I'm just grasping at straws here! Did they offer you a choice of both units and you opted to interview with psych? Or did they call you specifically for psych? It's just frustrating because not to pat myself on the back, but I think that I'm a really qualified candidate. As I'm sure the rest of you are too! I guess I just can't imagine what they're looking for in a candidate. At any rate, best of luck to all of you guys in your interviews!
Hi ChineseLantern!
Yeah, I think that's why they called me last week cause I had listed M/S as my 1st choice. When the lady was describing the different areas of M/S that I could interview for, I asked about psych and she said it was listed as my 2nd choice. That's when I opted to interview for psych instead, since I only get one chance and since psych is my passion. I'd give you guys an interview, too! Best of luck to you guys! Hoping you all get calls, we all definitely deserve a chance, no doubt! :)

Well, best wishes to you! I think its awesome that you chose to follow your passion!
Hi Everyone... Today was the 1st day of interviews as you all know. Just wanted to stop in here to share my experience so far in as few bullet point as possible...
* I felt like I was at a crowded factory when I walked in to the HR suite. There were dozens & dozens of candidates there!
* They asked each candidate to fill out an essay type questionnaire, which to me was odd. I've been in other interviews and I feel like these are the types of things they should ask you for pre-screening.
* They were running late so I didn't get interviewed until 40 minutes after my scheduled time.
* I had 2 people interview me. One was nice but the other looked bored and kept cutting me off mid-sentence.
* They had no idea who I was--- when I walked in there, they didn't even have a copy of my resume' which goes to show that they didn't read my profile beforehand.
* The interview was way short as expected, which makes it hard for a candidate whose resume' didn't get read by the interviewers beforehand to make his/her case to get hired.
* I asked when I'd hear back, to which they said "Well we're interviewing a lot of people today, but we're gonna keep the job open all of November so you might hear back some time in December. As to when in December, we're not sure."
So in summary, DON'T LOSE HOPE because they still might call you. Also, it was kind of an impersonal experience. I think it's kinda crappy to go to interviews feeling like you're definitely just a number when they know how desperate the situation is in all of California for new grads.
