I just got a call for med/surg yesterday so don't lose hope!!

Awww thanks. I'm tired of thinking about it. It'd be nice to get a call for psych but I'm not holding my breath. I don't understand their process at all - they call people who haven't even graduated yet or taken the NCLEX. Not to pat my own back, but I graduated with honors, have additional certificates, have awesome recommendation letters/references, etc. and no call. :) I'm very happy for those that have gotten calls and wish them the best of luck. But I'm tired of waiting for the call. :)

SeptemberRn and WishMeLuck, so you guys applied to psych? I also applied to that unit, but still no phone call. Did anyone else who listed psych as their first choice get a call? It really seems to me like they just haven't actually started calling people who listed psych as their first, so I don't think that we should give up hope yet!!! At any rate, I am tired of waiting, its starting to bum me out! I am considering calling them tomorrow to see if they can give me any information, but I also don't want to annoy them since the job announcement specified no calls. Can't decide!

I called and they were very curt. I'm definitely not calling again. I put psych down as my #3.

Again, if they call, that'd be awesome, but I'm burned out on waiting for the phone to ring! :)

Oh seriously? That sucks that they were rude to you! Were they able to tell you anything, like if they started calling for psych yet? If you don't mind sharing I'd love to hear it.

They weren't rude exactly, just curt. She sounded irritated. This was last Monday and all she said was that they weren't finished making calls. I wish she could have told me more.

Okay, thanks. Gonna try to remain optimistic that we will both get calls soon.

I hope so too!

WishMeLuck and ChineseLantern,

I listed psych as my 2nd choice and was called last week (M/S was my 1st choice). I hope you guys do get calls this week still, I know how hard it is waiting for that phone to ring, and getting tired of waiting at the same time. It's extremely frustrating, I know. I think it's luck at who gets picked and who doesn't. Gonna be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you guys!

patientRN - congrats! When is your interview date?

Hi PatientRN! I think I saw that you received a call in another post...I guess my thought process was just that since you listed m/s as your first maybe they called you with the m/s group and haven't called the psych first choice group yet. Or maybe I'm just grasping at straws here! Did they offer you a choice of both units and you opted to interview with psych? Or did they call you specifically for psych? It's just frustrating because not to pat myself on the back, but I think that I'm a really qualified candidate. As I'm sure the rest of you are too! I guess I just can't imagine what they're looking for in a candidate. At any rate, best of luck to all of you guys in your interviews!

wow! it's somewhat comforting to know that i'm not alone in this waiting period. i'm actually the same way: high GPA, extensive volunteer experiences, certificates... etc. i guess that's what finding a job is all about though.. you never know what sparks an interest from the person viewing your resume!
