Congrats to your friend, Benny! Does anyone have any tips for the interviews as far as what to expect and kinds of questions they'll ask?
Thanks, I personally don't know the answer to that, but based from others who have been hired by UCLA and a few other hospitals, it's usually the "tell me more about yourself, how do you see yourself in 5 years, what made you go into nursing, what are your strong and weak points", etc...
I have heard for some situational questions, like things that you need to think about in your training, what would you in this particular setting, how would you best handle this problem...etc...in some cases, you need to be quick on your feet and not give out an answer that might harm the patient or the hospital or yourself, but at the same time, not be evasive and go around the question.
Be honest and straight forward and smile Good luck to all!!
Thanks for posting... I completely agree with your comments. My interview's this Wed., for ~20 minutes & I really see nothing but "basic" questions like the ones you posted to really get to know the applicants in such short time frame.
Congrats to everyone getting ready for an interview! I wish all of us much success & a job with UCLA STAT!

erylRN,
Congratulations on your interview call! i can't believe they called you so close to the interview. Good luck on your interview. After the interview, can you tell us how it was and what kinds of questions they asked? my interview is for med surg on nov 15th. i live in nj so i am flying out on thursday.
Thanks biscuitmama! I cant pm...I feel like its more luck than anything. Lol. When they asked me what time, it seemed like they were interviewing in 20 minute increments. So I'm thinking lots of people int
erviewing. Whatever happens though, I wish you and everyone good luck. Competing for jobs with fellow qualified RNs is not what I expected in nursing school.
Guys, don't forget to bring your school transcripts and certs.
Hi Crazycaryl88,first off, congratulations on getting an ED interview. From what I've been told it's tough competition, so good for you! Do you have PM privileges? If you PM me I can tell you what I know and from whom. I don't have enough posts so I can't send a PM quite yet....
