Hi Jamie 2487, I was hired at Ronald Regan in the Neuro/Trauma ICU. My unit director emailed me and told me what day I am going to HR to do my new hire paperwork, benefits, etc, and my start date on the unit. She also told me to go to HR 30 days before my start date for a background check and fingerprints as well as go to employee health to do my physical/drug screen. It was left up to me to set that up. Like I said to buckeye nurse, Santa Monica moved into their new hospital yesterday so I think that is creating delays and some confusion for them. Give them a few days to get set up in the new offices and I'm sure they will sort everything out. HR at RRUCLA is seperate from HR at SMUCLA from what I can tell. Good luck over at SMUCLA! I did a tour of the new hopsital and its beautiful.

UCLA/SM is moving into their new hospital on Sunday 1/8 so things are a little crazy over there right now.

That's what she told me in my second interview back in November. I was offered a position Thursday, which I accepted, but I did not ask how many more new grads she was planning to hire.

6 to 8 people I was told.

Hey RN_Mom Since we think we met with the same Unit Manager, I wanted to let you know I got an email from her today asking me to call her today or tomorrow between 1400 and 1600, which I did but I got voicemail. I think we interviewed for the same ICU RN Mom. From what I have read in this thread and in talking to friends that interviewed for different ICUs than me, there seems to be only one ICU Unit Director that told people during the first interview to contact her to arrange a second interview. I am new to this website so I can't PM you. From what I read you interviewed for Santa Monica ICU and I interviewed for an ICU at Ronald Regan. I don't want to say which one specifically in case the other people that interviewed for the same unit are on this message board but did not have the same outcome as me. Don't give up hope, as I said before, I am sure each unit director does things differently. They are interviewing a TON of people from what I gathered so give them some time to sort through everyone and hopefully you will get a job!

The unit director I met with today gave me her card asked me to contact her directly to set up a second interview within the next 2 weeks. I have no idea if this is how every unit works so don't freak out if this does not happen to you. I'm sure each UD has their own unique process when it comes to hiring. Good luck everyone!
