UCLA MECN 2021

Published

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone asked them yet if they released acceptance emails alphabetically?

Should I email him directly? Did anyone email Mark directly to find out?

I emailed mark asking about rejection notifications.

“Thank you for the email. We are hoping to release all admission decisions today but it can spill into next week as well.”

I’m really disappointed right now ? IDK why they can’t just release it all at once, it doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult to do. It’s go to be hard to get through the rest of my 12 hour shift, especially since I’m training someone like I just want to be alone ?

Yes congrats Justin :)!
did you just get an email ?

Sweet. I got the email around noon. My last name starts with a "P" so I'm not sure if it's alphabetical.

UCLA was the only school I applied to this cycle but I was rejected 3 times consecutively.

Thanks Justin. That gives me hope! Congrats to you!!

Any feedback on what led you to getting accepted this year over the last couple? What did you learn in the application process ?

Thank you.

Things that changed in my application this cycle:

I took Nursing Dosage and Pharmacology at LA Harbor College. [It doesn't count towards the nursing program credits but maybe it showed I was committed. I got an A in both.

I got a job as an EMT on a 911 ambulance. When COVID hit, I did Covid screenings for the CDC/DoD.

My essay didn't change much, I only added the new experiences and what I learned, and how it will help me in nursing.

Congratulation to those that got in! This is my second time applying and I am nervous. Last year I received my rejection letter Feb. 13, 2020 at 11pm
