UCLA MECN 2021

Published

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats!!!! ?

OMG congratulations Tangie ! Girl you go ! You deserve this ! What time did they email you ?

it was not a letter it was an request for transcripts I just found...I thought I did not need to send anything. ?

Are we sending transcript electronically to the director of admissions or the graduate school?

Just unofficial transcripts then official if accepted.

So you were accepted?! Or you had transcripts missing so your application was not complete?!!

For your pre-reqs that were in progress during Fall 2020?

Correct it was incomplete, but Mark just email back stating he would add to my application and Jeimy received them. I am hopefully for u all, but my stomach just sank. So abt to go distract myself.

Yes

Do you guys think all acceptance letters were sent by now? or is there still a little hope?

I don't know what to think honestly...

On one hand it doesn't seem like it would take 8 hours or even multiple days to send out acceptance letters. It also seems backwards to send out waitlist notices before others received their acceptance. The usual rules seem off.

When I got my acceptance on Tuesday for UT Austin my status was updated on the site, I got a personal email from the school, and the following day another email with a link to the official acceptance letter with instructions. Waitlist emails went out about an hour later.

On the flip side I'm waitlisted at Marquette and I only found out after they had made their last accept decision -- they do rolling acceptances while the application window is still open.

I'd like to have hope at UCLA is my first choice, but to be honest I don't have a ton of hope going into the 3-day weekend...

I am still hoping for those of us who have not heard anything. I just reread the 2020 thread and a few people received their acceptances on the 8th when majority of the acceptances and waitlists went out on the 6th.

It doesn't look good for me, but I am holding on to that little glimmer of hope until I receive an official rejection.

On this chat only 9 people have heard back a letter of acceptance so there’s still a good chance !
