UCLA MECN 2021

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!

I actually am a former student + applied last year. My UID was on both apps.

I am a former graduate of UCLA, and on the application it actually asks you what your UID is if you graduated from UCLA or work here. So I put it in and submitted my app. So mines has always been there. I don’t think it hits at admissions.

Sorry, to clarify, I'm a current MECN student. I do remember getting a UID sometime in the process, although I can't find info in my emails about when I had access to the #. It seem from my emails back & forth to admin, that I had access to my UID from my application decision portal...potentially good news for those who have it (unless everyone has a UID listed now haha)

I just got back from a run and saw all these posts and truly panicked! Does everyone seem to have one? I just checked and mine does as well (not a previous UCLA grad). If we all do it’s probably safe to assume it’s just something they added to track all the applications... or I’m looking forward to meeting you all in the fall ?!

I just looked at a picture I took when I first submitted my application and it wasn’t on there. It is now but I think it’s just something they add during the application process. I am not sure though.

I checked my account and I do have the UID as well but I’m pretty sure they added it to all of our apps! I emailed the department and they received my application and my emails have been going to spam LOL I can’t wait to find out! Jeimy the recruiter told me decisions will be available until the end of February ?
