Hi everyone!
I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!
Hi, MECN first year here! I decided to comment because I'm still getting notifications from this thread. You will probably hear back in the next week or so! Our results came out Feb 6 in waves towards the end of Feb, they also don't let you know if you got rejected so if you haven't heard back while people are getting acceptances, I would check the decision portal. Waitlist emails came at the same time too. I got accepted off the waitlist on Sept. 1. So don't lose hope, regardless of the decision! I believe about 14 students got off the waitlist last year ? I was #13. This was the only school I applied to so it all eventually worked out. And don't let this decision define you! The program you attend should match who you are too! UCLA SON is huge on diversity and how you can contribute to that and the community. Other programs are more public health focused, etc.

I didn't have all my LORs submitted by the deadline but I believe some of us received an email later in mid December that looks like this:

Good luck and let us know!
OK so I definitely did NOT get this e-mail, the only one I Got was the one at time os submission that reads like this:
"Thank you for considering UCLA for your graduate studies. Your online
application has been received.
If you have any questions concerning the status of your application, please
contact the office of the graduate program to which you applied (addresses and
telephone numbers are included on the Graduate Division website:
http://www.grad.ucla.edu/gasaa/deptinfo/deptinfointro.asp).
Information about housing options for graduate students is available on the
UCLA website (http://www.housing.ucla.edu).
Thank you for your interest in UCLA and please accept our best wishes for
success with your application to graduate study.
Sincerely,
UCLA Graduate Division"

It might be in your junk/spam folder so make sure to check there! That’s where mine went to

I have applied for FALL2021, my application was updated with a UID number, what does this mean?
What?!?!? Where did you see that. Wonder if this is like some secret indication of something before official announcements made (or if this just happens for everyone?) Maybe the former MECN folks know?

As a student, you get a UID #, it's like a student ID number, but I don't recall when I got it...I thought it had it when I submitted my application.
