UCLA MECN 2021

Published

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone!  Just letting you all know that I decided to go to CSULB and am starting classes next week, so I withdrew my UCLA application from consideration and will be unfollowing this thread.  Thanks to all of you for the support, and BEST OF LUCK to everyone!!

OMG congratulations, best of luck to you!

CSULB has such an amazing program! I went there for undergrad and a lot of my friends graduated from their nursing program. I loved it there and I hope you do too! Congrats and good luck!

Congratulations! That is amazing! Wishing the best of luck for you!

Hello everyone! I also applied to the MECN program for Fall 2021 cohort. My application is finally complete on Jan 15th after months of chasing after my recommender for the last letter of recommendation (Seriously, LOR is the hardest part of the application). I already got accepted to the MDE program at Columbia University and wondering if anyone is on the same boat as me? I also already put my deposit down since their deadline falls before UCLA decision date, which is soooooo annoying

I know that UCLA MECN is more competitive than Columbia's MDE, so my chances of getting in are super slim...but still, I am waiting to hear back from UCLA. Hopefully, the fact that my last LOR was submitted last minute will not have a bad impact on my application T.T

Hey! I applied and got accepted to Johns Hopkins for Spring 2021 (this semester). I also applied to UCLA’s MECN program and Columbia’s MDE. I have yet to hear back from Columbia but I decided to attend Hopkins because I didn’t want to take the risk of not getting into any other program. School begins next Monday, so even if I hear back from the other schools, it won’t really matter at this point LOL. So yeah I was in the same boat as you about a month ago when I decided to put the deposit down for Hopkins. And in the end, I decided to go for the guarantee. Although, at this point, if I got into the other programs, technically I could still attend them since they don’t start until later. I doubt I’ll change my mind though! ? Congrats on getting into Columbia! ?

I just got accepted to an ABSN program and have pay a 1000 deposit. Sucks that I can't pay the deposit after I hear from UCLA but at least I have a seat  saved somewhere for me.

JHU is an AMAZING school and you will do AMAZING! Congratulation on your acceptance! I also applied to JHU (even smaller chance for me cause..) but WOW that tuition is EXPENSIVE, I thought Columbia is expensive but JHU is even more expensive.

$1000 is A LOT! Paying $500 was really hard for my broke self :’) already. Congratz for acceptance still!! I know right, why can’t every schools just synchronized their timing so we can save money??
Still, I’m just glad that no matter which school I’m going for I will be an RN! Good luck for both of us!

Thank you! Good luck to you as well. I'm just happy I got accepted into a program considering how competitive nursing is now.

Hi All!

Just commenting here so I can follow along. Anxiously waiting for the days to pass! The closer to February the slower time seems to be passing.

Excited to hear everyone's updates! Good luck to us! (:

This is definitely grueling, congrats to those already admitted elsewhere! I feel like even if it costs $500 it would be nice peace of mind, and kind of regret not applying to more programs.

Definitely, I can sleep much better at night now ever since I got the acceptance! I got lucky that I only applied to 3 schools, cause when I’m about to work on other school’s application I heard back from Columbia immediately. Pretty much saved me time and $$ to apply to other school, thanks to my last minute application style LOL

I wish I knew about this thread during the application process! Enjoyed reading through everyone sharing their input. Good luck to everyone applying!! I also got the email that we would find out by the end of Feb, but I hope it ends up being earlier than that ?
