UCLA MECN 2017

Published

Hey, I am currently getting ready to apply to the UCLA MECN program. I went to UCLA yesterday to meet with the nursing advisor and since I have 2 C's, one in psych and one in Stats, she advised me to repeat one of them because I can't have more than one C on my transcripts. I plan on taking Micro this fall. In terms of work experience, I work with an agency facilitating care for end of life patients. I really want to get into the UCLA program but I will also be applying to CSULA, CSUN, CSUCI, CSUSM and USF, Western and

Anyway, I just wanted to create a thread for those applying same time as I so we can discuss. Fyi I will be attending the info session on July 26!

I really want to specialize though so I'm kind of bummed that the MECN doesn't offer a specialty, I would have to do a post-masters program.

How many classes can you have in progress when applying?

If a class is repeated, do they average the two or disregard the lower grade totally?

How much is the program in total?

Do MECN graduates make more in terms of salary than BSNs?

hey, is there anyone who applied last year but was rejected? or does anyone know who got in after a second trial?

Well I received an email from them today and just about had a heart attack....it was just to say that my application and all supporting documentation was received complete and I'd hear from them by the end of March :nailbiting:

I, too, received an email. My application was incomplete. Transcripts and outstanding letters of recommendation are due by January 15th.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I applied days after the application opened...I wouldn't worry yet...they may be going chronologically?

Received the email about incomplete application as well(transcripts and LOR). Submitted app on 10/31. Wonder why everyone didn't receive an email. Would follow up if you don't get anything before thanksgiving.

Good call. What email address did you receive the email from?

Thank you!

The email came from one of the administrators, MC.

Finally, I got the Emal regarding incomplete application. Now I'm a bit relieved. I'm still asking, who amongst us here asides me applied last year?

This is my first time applying. But do you have any tips for me if I don't get in this year? What did you do to fill the time between application cycles? I was going to work as a CNA and start self study using nursing school text books. Thanks Amzy
