Hey, I am currently getting ready to apply to the UCLA MECN program. I went to UCLA yesterday to meet with the nursing advisor and since I have 2 C's, one in psych and one in Stats, she advised me to repeat one of them because I can't have more than one C on my transcripts. I plan on taking Micro this fall. In terms of work experience, I work with an agency facilitating care for end of life patients. I really want to get into the UCLA program but I will also be applying to CSULA, CSUN, CSUCI, CSUSM and USF, Western and
Anyway, I just wanted to create a thread for those applying same time as I so we can discuss. Fyi I will be attending the info session on July 26!
I really want to specialize though so I'm kind of bummed that the MECN doesn't offer a specialty, I would have to do a post-masters program.
How many classes can you have in progress when applying?
If a class is repeated, do they average the two or disregard the lower grade totally?
How much is the program in total?
Do MECN graduates make more in terms of salary than BSNs?

For those of you who are aware that their reference writers have submitted to Decision Desk, does your "review" page of your application change and indicate when they sent it in? Mine still says the date I sent the link and a "re-send" button. Thanks!
yes it says "completed" and the date they did it. The resend option disappears once they complete it
I submitted without attaching my resume. Is there something I can do about that?
I searched allnurses for "UCLA MECN incomplete application"; in the 2011 forum it looked like someone forgot to attach the resume but received a notice of incomplete application in December. They did end up getting their application reviewed (they didn't get accepted, however). I think this is a good sign -- that you'll get a chance to make your application complete so it will be ready for review.
Hey relax, i called admissions. If you typed up your work experience in the section of the application, you did not have to attach a resume. Hope you feel better. Its not a big deal :)

Sorry I haven't dug back in the comments but assuming you haven't already, try reaching out to Rhonda Flenoy or Marc Covin; they're excellent resources and while I know the application is new this year, our prior one allowed us to remove someone who hadn't responded to replace them with another LOR candidate.
