UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

If it is by the end of the month. That's a long time from November 1st. Where did everyone else apply? and were have you guys already heard from back from?

I was wondering that too! You would think they might have went over the applications in the four months they've had them instead of waiting until march (head-desk). I only applied to UCLA, my friend got her UCSF letter at the end of last month. What about you morganw1?

Wow, well... I really hope we hear sooner than the last week of March! If we're waitlisted or accepted, would we also be notified through email? My spring break is the last week of March, and I'd hate to miss the letter or have it get lost.

I know. Maybe something happened unexpectedly and now they're finally reviewing applications. I hope that it's not because of the amount of applicants. Anyway, I applied to USD (no interview/rejected), USFCA (submitted FEB 15th), NYU( April 1st), and I picked Duke (June 1st) as my reach school. I was a CCE in Lynwood, CA incase anyone wanted to know. I graduate the program and now I volunteer at Palomar Medical Center (Escondido,CA) in essentially the same program under a different name.

I didn't apply to that many MSN programs because I'm missing way too many pre-reqs for the others and I want to stay in California. Only UCLA and Western. Got an Interview at Western but its so freaking expensive...prob won't go if I got in. Also applied to a few BSN programs for back up.

Hi Guys,

This waiting is frustrating I know. I can see where you could be upset if you had to commit to another school without knowing your status at UCLA etc. but I am sure they are working as fast as they can. Even though the deadline is Nov. 1st they have to wait for letters of rec and transcripts before they can begin the review process and of course throw in the holidays where the campus closes for 2 weeks. On top of it they are short handed. So, let's just try our best to be patient. Just keep checking this blog because as soon as decisions come in we will know without having to hound student affairs.

@Bruin2010 I also applied to Western and got an interview, but I'm in the same boat as you. Western is ridiculously expensive!! I hope UCLA doesn't keep us waiting that long, hopefully before the end of the month. I also applied to CSUN's ABSN program but I have not heard anything from them either. I really do hate this waiting game!!

I only applied to UCI and UCLA. I turned in UCI's app on Dec 2nd and found out I got accepted on Dec. 19th. UCI is pretty freaking fast

Oh, TLeeM, I thought you were in the Care Extender Program at UCLA! I'm at UCLA SM this rotation in that program.

I have heard such great things about that program! Good luck to you in L&D!

1st year MECN here..

For epidemiology, you can take it through BYU independent study (~$700) or you can take Nursing 50 through UCLA during the summer (~$1500).

I'm open for questions. I love the program so far, and my classmates are the best!
