UCF SUMMER 2015 Accelerated Nursing Program

Published

Hey guys!

I just applied for the summer 2015 accelerated nursing program at UCF.

I wanted to create this thread so people can see the application pool stats and just have somewhere to talk and vent during the "waiting game."

As for me...I'm a little on the low side sadly...

TEAS- 87.3%

Overall GPA: 3.467

Pre-req GPA: 3.65

Good luck!

Hello! I'm glad to see this forum. My application is complete and I am just sitting back and waiting for decisions now. Do any of you know much about the quality of the UCF 2nd degree program? I am also applying to UNF and USF and am looking for ways to compare and contrast. Thanks

PreReqs:4.0

Overall:3.92

TEAS: 98

holy sh*t! you'll definitely get in!! that's amazing you were able to get a 98% on it. good work.

Nice stats Chad! Very impressive

Hey guys, I applied to the ABSN and BSN programs as well. Everyone else's stats are amazing!!! I only have a 3.37 cumulative GPA, 3.75 pre-req GPA, and an 80.7 on the TEAS... I'm not really expecting to get in to UCF but I would obviously be ecstatic if I somehow did manage to get in. I figured I would just give it a shot in case the applicant pool isn't as strong this year. I really hope we hear back from them closer to the 6 week mark, the waiting game is so painful already haha.

I saw a few of you were asking about other programs. My really good friend just graduated from USF in December. She stated that she liked her program; however she had a really tough time with pharmacology and her clinical site was an hour plus from where she lived. The programs at USF and UCF are laid out the same way but with UCF if you are struggling they will let you step down to the basic program USF just kicks you out

If you guys get in, are you planning on getting random roommates or are you living in a single? My lease in Orlando is up July 31st. I'm trying to decide if it's better to get a single or to be put with randoms. I don't want to get super lonely and depressed in a single, but I also don't want to be stuck with randoms who keep me up all night when I have studying to do and clinicals haha. What are you all thinking of doing in that circumstance?

I'm living in a single, but I'm pretty independent. I live by mall of millenia area. I really hope I get in. I am getting antsy and trying not to worry about it. I'm just so ready to start. I'll be bummed if I have to figure something else out/apply to other schools/programs. I don't want to move. I really love my apartment, and I really want to go to UCF, but I want to be a nurse even more.

Yeah I feel the same way... Like I already live in Orlando so it would make it a lot easier on me if I don't have to move everything plus I've always liked going to UCF... But like you said I want to be a nurse even more than wanting those other things so whatever happens will happen for a reason. The crappy thing would be if I don't get into any of the schools I applied for lol! Which are only 2 others other than UCF.

Specializes in Prior military RN/current ICU RN..

Yes. It is usually 21 hours a semester and they expect someone with a previous degree and a little older is more likely to be able to handle it as they are proven students.

Hopefully, we will find out soon. I try to check my Knights email only once a day, haha.

Hey guys! I just found this thread...after being so excited about the email regarding our shots.

My stats are -

TEAS: 82.01

Prereq GPA: 3.8

Overall GPA: 3.68

I'm graduating from UF in May with a bachelor's degree in health education and behavior. I'm worried my stats won't be good enough, but UCF is really my top school because of the location (I want to eventually live in the surrounding Orlando area due to family and my boyfriend). I'm also applying to the concurrent programs as well.

So excited for whats to come guys, all of your stats look great! Best of luck and wishes to you all :)

SO I just found out from UCF Health Services you can use them for the physical and titers if you are not a current student if you have:

United Health Care, Certain Cigna plans, Blue Cross or graduated in the fall from UCF

I priced out the titers and it was the cheapest place to get it done...I have a high deductible for all the labs it was around $150
