Jan 15, 201511 yr Hey guys! I just applied for the summer 2015 accelerated nursing program at UCF. I wanted to create this thread so people can see the application pool stats and just have somewhere to talk and vent during the "waiting game." As for me...I'm a little on the low side sadly...TEAS- 87.3%Overall GPA: 3.467 Pre-req GPA: 3.65Good luck!
Jan 20, 201511 yr Hi bmoreucf!!! I am applying to the accelerated program as well. It looks like we won't hear back for a few months, so it will be good to talk to some people who are going through the process as well. As for my stats....GPA: 3.74Prereq GPA: 4.0TEAS: 84%I really wish my TEAS was higher, but hopefully my GPA can offset that some. If not I will most likely have to retake it.I've been doing my best to try and not get caught up in the numbers, but it's hard because it's such a big part of their decision. Honestly though, the applicant pool is different every year so who knows what stats are considered high or low yet. Good luck to you, I hope you get in!!!
Jan 21, 201511 yr Author Yeah I really hope the application pool isn't crazy this year!! That'll give everyone a better chance. When do you think we will find out? Mid- March??
Jan 21, 201511 yr Yeah I think the website says six weeks after the application deadline so that's what I'm guessing. It feels so long from now!
Jan 22, 201511 yr I applied as well! I hope everything gets reviewed by end of the month. It's stressful to only be given a month to apply. I wish I had submitted my app earlier, but I was waiting on TEAS scores. I have a 4.0 prereq gpa but only a 3.344 cumulative gpa (I was a theatre major first time around and overworked myself in too many shows/choirs). I got an 84% on TEAS. I did well in all sections but the darn passage/paragraph comprehension which really brought down my overall. Very frustrating since I've been doing well in my prereq classes. I would have taken an extra English class if I knew I was going to struggle in that section. I am probably going to have to go the concurrent route or Valencia, but I'll be ecstatic if I get wait listed and then accepted.
Jan 22, 201511 yr Hey sarah! Are you sure everything needs to be reviewed by the end of the month? If you look at the bottom of the page when you view your application status details it says "updates are not immediate, and applications may be reviewed after the application deadline." I think you might be okay!!! Parts of the TEAS were frustrating for me as well. The english section is what really hurt me. There were so many grammar and punctuation rules that I forgot from years ago and overlooked. Oh well, its all out of our hands now. And stay optimistic! As I said before, it all depends on the applicant pool. They take stats that are higher and lower than the averages as well.
Jan 23, 201511 yr í ½í±Thanks! I went back to check and saw that it said that. That makes me feel better.I am just going to try and stay positive and see what happens. That's all we can do now! Thankfully, I have a busy month coming up to keep me distracted while we play the waiting game. Thanks for the pep talk. I can be hard on myself. Good luck! :)
Jan 26, 201511 yr Hi my name is Ashley! I applied for both programs basic and accelerated. My stats 4.0 Science pre-recs 3.75 non science pre-recs3.769 ver all for the first degree86.0 on the teas.I heard everyone on the wait list for our program got in last year. The TEAS is a crap test....like we remember things from 5 grade science... the math part was the hardest for me...it wasn't the actual math it was the fact that I was not allowed a pencil and paper we had the boggy board things that were like gel and we would write on them...it took me longer because my work kept disappearing.
Jan 26, 201511 yr Does accelerated mean, you already have a bachelors degree? Just going back for the RN in BSN? Sorry I am new to this, and changing my major. :)
Jan 27, 201511 yr Hello everyone! I will be joining you on this stress filled journey. Applied for standard BSN too.GPA: 3.46PreReq: 3.46TEAS:89.3Health Sciences Pre-Clinical Grad from UCF

I would be surprised if you got wait listed. That's weird you didn't get pencil/paper on the TEAS too. I can't imagine doing some of those math problems when your work keeps disappearingAnd Jordan to answer your question, yes the accelerated is for students who have a bachelor's degree before the program start date in May
Jan 27, 201511 yr Hello! I'm glad to see this forum. My application is complete and I am just sitting back and waiting for decisions now. Do any of you know much about the quality of the UCF 2nd degree program? I am also applying to UNF and USF and am looking for ways to compare and contrast. ThanksPreReqs:4.0Overall:3.92TEAS: 98
