UCF Fall 2012

Published

Hi! I just wanted to start a thread for everyone that is applying for UCF's BSN program which will begin this Fall, 2012. I think this would be a great place for everyone to share their concerns, nerves about waiting, or questions. :)

So, how is everyone? Which campus are you applying to?

Good luck guys with SSC.

hello mary058,

i couldn't help but notice your quote.

teas iv is easier but also scores that are accepted tend to be different from the scores of teas v. teas v study wasn't helpful on my 1st attempt and some questions were not in it!

that is true. i also took teas v. the study guide for the science section seemed to help me answer half of the questions correctly on the test. i found that both knowledge from previous science courses were helpful along with the online practice exams.

i've really heard a range of different comments about how study guide was helpful.

i found it helpful for most sections except the science section.

Here’s to the “number’s game”:

UCF-Orlando, Applicant for Fall 2012

Previous BFA from SAIC

Overall GPA: 3.85

Pre-Reqs: 4.0

TEAS: 84%

So I’ve picked up this unhealthy habit of monitoring this site on a regular basis right before I go to bed and I never make it to bed at a reasonable hour. Unfortunately, it created some anxiety for the past two months, but tonight I have realized the tremendous support and comradery that exists through this server. I have quoted many of you on several occasions to my academic advisors, family, and friends and none of them get it—the application process for the Nursing program at UCF takes an emotional toll on all applicants.

With that said, I’m Georgette and if anyone wants to get together and have a March Freak out party and just vent I am definitely down. Otherwise, thanks for all your posts. It is certainly a relief to see there are real people behind all the exceptional GPAs and TEAS scores. If that makes any sense :)

From the stats, I can tell I applied for some very competitive programs. A freak out party would sound good about now.

I have the anticipation to look at my status and my results at the same time.

Yay, first round of beer is on me, Source. Ever been to Friendly Confines?

No I haven't. But if you plan anything, then post it up. :)

And the torture of waiting has begun! No sleep for 6-8 weeks!

I hope everyone is doing well! Just a thought, does anyone know if UCF's nursing program will definitely be at Lake Nona in the fall? I've heard a lot of stories that they are moving to Lake Nona near the College of Medicine, and that this upcoming semester will be the first time there. But, I haven't heard much other news, perhaps due to funds being cut, or is the College of Nursing still going to be near their main campus?

Just curious what you guys have heard :)

Thanks!

So like 2 weeks left? I didn't get in for the summer so my hopes aren't high for the Fall....but there's always a little hope.

I hadn't heard anything about Lake Nona. I would LOVE if this were true, because it would save me about 40 minutes of driving every morning and afternoon, lol. But on the CON website it says they will start fundraising to move soon, so to me that would imply that they are no where close?

samiam856, sorry to hear that you didn't get accpeted for the summer, do you mean to UCF or UCF nursing? If CON, I didn't realize they had a program start date for the summer...however, best of luck with the fall!

Nikkilicious, I had saw the same news about fundraising, but I wasn't sure how far the college had gotten. We are complete opposites though; if they moved to Lake Nona, my drive would instead increase about 40 minutes! haha So, I must admit I'll be somewhat glad if they're staying by UCF especially with gas prices now. I wish your drive was somehow shortened though!
