UCF Fall 2012

Published

Hi! I just wanted to start a thread for everyone that is applying for UCF's BSN program which will begin this Fall, 2012. I think this would be a great place for everyone to share their concerns, nerves about waiting, or questions. :)

So, how is everyone? Which campus are you applying to?

I called UCF today and found out from the advisor that I was denied due to them not receiving my TEAS scores, even though I faxed it and emailed it (with a confirmation that they got it). I resent my TEAS scores and they reinstated my application (as far as I know). I knew it would not be the course numbers because even going through a Florida State school, I submitted an APG form for any courses that did not line up at the beginning of January and I have already received the confirmation.

Well, I am glad to hear that you have been able to find out why and be able to fix it!

How long did it take for your APG forms to be reviewed and confirmed since the day you submitted them? Where did you obtain an "official course description" required to be submitted along with APG form? Also, did you take TEAS in an institution other than UCF?

I am starting to worry a little about the course numbers... Thank you.

I submitted my APG form the first week of January, as UCF reviews APG petitions the second Tuesday of every month (all petitions must be in my noon the Monday before). I heard the decision of the APG about 2 weeks later. I obtained the official course descriptions from the Valencia archive catalogs and matched the course number to the subsequent year. I took my TEAS V at Valencia College, then just emailed the .pdf individual performance profile to UCF.

I TOOK MY TEAS... SORRY GUYS.. SEEMS LIKE UCF.. NOT HAPPENING.. good luck to all of you

leandrito, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't go as well as we all would've hoped for you, but don't give up! I wish you the best of luck too

thank you.... i have other universities that i am applying too :)

I'm all submitted, and just waiting now :) I've applied for the generic BSN, and I'm planning on also submitted an app for the Seminole State concurrent program. Looks like I might have to take the TEAS again, though. Seminole State's website says the TEAS expires after two years. Maybe this time around I can improve on my 90.6 :-/

Does anyone know if the TEAS expires for UCF?

Oh, and another question comes to mind! I heard from a friend that the version 4 is a lot easier than the 5th. Anyone have any experience with this?

UCF shows that scores are valid for two years. I don't know how TEAS 4 vs TEAS V is different, but TEAS V is pretty tough. From what I heard, TEAS IV had alot of geology questions whereas TEAS V has alot of life science and physiology questions. Good luck!

. Maybe this time around I can improve on my 90.6 :-/

Just so you know, a 90.6 is pretty freaking amazing... it's in the 99th percentile :)

Jerricaberri, I don't have personal experience taking version 4, I've only taken 5, but from other people who have taken both versions, almost all of them have said version 5 is more difficult. They said on average people's scores are about ten percentage points lower on version 5 than what they would've scored on version 4.

You did very well on your TEAS before though, and I was able to score in the 90's on version 5 after a couple attempts and studying hard, so if you do have to take the TEAS again, I think you'll do fine!

Well, we have reached deadline day. Here is to a long 6 weeks.
