  1. Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone on the waitlist gets word soon!!! Keep us posted, ok?
  2. Congrats Yoshin! If you are on Facebook join our group :)
  3. just curious- if the op is saying that 28/30 students answered the question incorrectly, and you're saying that answering questions such as this incorrectly means the student is not prepared for nursing, then are you suggesting that this class as a whole is past of the group "who can't"? i don't think she is "ignoring it at [her] peril" - she is here asking and trying to understand the rationale.
  4. It doesn't say 2500 WORDS or less, read it again... it says 2500 CHARACTERS. Half a page is about 200-250 words. 2500 words would be about a 4-5 page essay. They only allow half a page for each question.
  5. FYI, to save you from going crazy checking your email constantly.... the adviser told me at one of the info sessions that they always send out the acceptance emails on a Friday afternoon. So you likely won't hear until then... Good luck everyone!
  6. I think sometimes someone might accept their spot, and then later isn't able to keep it... fails a background check or a drug test, etc. That may be why someone on the wait list might not hear up until the very last minute? Not sure, just a guess... Question for those already enrolled in the program- for your first semester, when did you get your class and clinical schedules? Do we know our clinicals and labs before classes start, or do we have to wait till that first week of classes to find out? I am anxious to know my schedule since I have to arrange for child care for my 2 babies...
  7. Everyone who has committed- don't forget to join our FB group so we can all keep in touch over the next few months! And those who are waitlisted, keep us posted. I am so anxious to hear who all gets in!! :) :)
  8. Jacki- yes, I had taken out loans for both my BA and MA... after I get my BSN, I think I should probably work for a while before thinking about any more school
  9. HHK- books and uniforms are only purchased for the first semester, right? So for the rest of the time it should be basically just tuition costs? Just got the email that I am approaching the limits on my federal loan capacity, so into fin aid I go on Monday morning!
  10. I hadn't heard anything about Lake Nona. I would LOVE if this were true, because it would save me about 40 minutes of driving every morning and afternoon, lol. But on the CON website it says they will start fundraising to move soon, so to me that would imply that they are no where close?
  11. Another question for those of you already in the program: I need to purchase a new laptop before classes start in May, because the one I am using is old and probably won't make it much longer. I am just wondering how necessary it is to have one? Do most students bring laptops to class to take notes, etc? Is there any special program, etc that I'll need or work I won't be able to do if I do not have one? Thanks for any help you may have!
  12. Congrats! I am a USM alum, not from nursing though. I got my BA from USM in 2003. It's an amazing university :)
  13. Yeah I would call ASAP. I remember the adviser mentioned at one of the question sessions that everyone hears at once, and that if you start hearing that all of your friends have heard and you haven't, to contact them :) Hope you hear soon!
  14. PinkString- I don't want to get your hopes up, but when I spoke to the advisor she told me that last year, by the time the classes started, all but 1 person on the waitlist had been contacted for open spots. So keep hope alive, I bet you've got a good shot still! :)
  15. I think for those accepted, our "confirmation" will be when they email us the next step :) At least I'm assuming!
