  1. 221 more needed! Spread the word! http://www.change.org/petitions/orlando-health-stop-nightshift-differential-cuts
  2. Prevent cuts to overworked nurses by signing this form & Spread the word! http://www.change.org/petitions/orlando-health-stop-nightshift-differential-cuts
  3. Since karate therapy was canceled due to nurses almost killing each other during practice; we had to use a punching bag instead... Forget about karate! I just hope she isn't thinking about me right now...
  4. Anyone know of any childcare that's not too expensive?
  5. I suggest that you finish all your prereqs before applying to any program. Getting into nursing is hard and very competitive! I finished my prereqs Fall 2010 got denied for Spring 2012 and for Fall 2012 I was waitlisted and finally accepted. I waited for a year and a half and spent countless nights without sleeping because I was very worried about my future. Some times I even asked myself if I had made the right choice... I had a 4.00 on the prereqs and a 76.7 on the TEAS V. The most important apect is when you finished your prereqs, for if you finished this year and you apply for next year along with someone who finished a semester before you, they will pick whoever finished first! TEAS and GPA only matter when you compete with eople that finished their prereqs on the same semester...I applied for Generic Track with SSC...
  6. Just did my fingerprints! According to Danielle, on Orientation date (June 27) we will get the booklist and everything else except for the fit test, which will be on August.
  7. I got in! I was number 5 on the SSC waitlist! I got done with my immunizations and got done with my lab test! Got my sthetoscope too! Waiting to get some money to order my uniforms and the rest of the stuff!
  8. You should check that with FA, not with those people at the FA front desk (they never give accurate info)...
  9. Any alternates been contacted yet??
  10. When did they tell you that you were accepted? A month after your "Alternate email"? I feel as if someone left me on hold while on a very important telephone call... I'll might as well start getting my paperwork together... Need Immunization papers... Anything else I may need? Are the uniforms and the rest of the stuff they ask you to get expensive? I know the Background check is about $40, ouch...
  11. I'm an alternate for the AS... On the top ten... I have to wait and they have up to August 6 to tell me if I made it in!!!
  12. My email said that everyone who was accepted was from FFall 2010 or earlier and with a 3.0 and I'm an Alternate for the AS. Turns out the part about picking people from Fall 2010 was a "mistake" because it was Summer 2010. I finished my prerrqs by Fall 2010 with a 4.0 GPA and yes, they still are making me wait! I'm on the top 10 Alternates for the AS and they have until August 4 to notify if a spot opened up for me... To those who ask about GPA, don't worry about it because they'll make you wait 2 years anyway! The funny thing is that the first semester around 20 students drop out and by graduation, less than 50 are left...
  13. I haven't been contacted either... hoping the email arrives next week... if not, i won't even bother opening the rejection letter that comes via snail mail...
  14. If you apply to both Generic and Concurrent and got into both. Please accept the Concurrent but PLEASE deny the Generic so it is given to those who wait on SSC Generic Track! Thanks...
  15. omg. this is not happening to me a second time!
