I am applying and have requested all my transcripts, I did decent on the Teas test with an 86. Undergrad gpa 3.45, pre req 4.0
I went to the info session last month it was a bit of a pain :angryfire to sit through just to get the application passcode because of all the redundant you should do some research if your serious questions lol.
I am excited and hope to get in to move forward with my life goals of community health nursing.
I am also applying to UNF's program too. Their website is really detailed with everything I ever wanted to know. One of the few schools that have their stuff together.
Hi All- I just joined this site after getting my acceptance to UCF too and feel like a fish out of water. I've never been to UCF's campus so my head is spinning with questions not only about the program but also about living arrangements and such!
I see some of you went to UCF as undergrads and since I will be heading down on Friday to do a preliminary check for housing, could you recommend a few complexes for me to check out? I would like to be as close to campus as possible but hear some sketchy things about a few places... any help is appreciated!
In truth, I'm scared as hell to start this program but we're all in it together, right!??!? Looking forward to meeting you all soon ;-)
One more of you will be gettin in...I got into my first choice UF so i wont be going to UCF anymore....there's another spot :)
I got accepted also, but I just can't get myself to waste an entire summer and then graduate in December and lose months of pay and experience that I need to later apply to graduate programs. I really don't understand why UF changed their curriculum like that, their "accelerated program" starts the same time as their traditional program and ends only 1 semester prior. However, the traditional program will now have the summer off so the accelerated program is just as long as the traditional.
Anyway goodluck to you.

Ive been to UCF three times now, and their housing (at least compared to housing in Gainesville) isn't any good. They are very expensive and most of the complexes near campus are run down. There are a couple that are nice like The Edge, but they are currently at full capacity, and The Lofts, but ive never seen such a small bedroom! Take a tour and youll understand what I mean.
I will be starting a new thread to see if anyone is interested in a house 5-6 minutes from campus, its a 4 bedroom home in a Gated Community that costs 1500 a month. Split 4 ways, it is much less then an apartment. We currently have two bedrooms left. If anyone on this thread is interested let me know. I will post a picture of the house but you can PM for further details.
yea i know how you feel but i currently work for a doctor so waiting till fall really doesn't affect me...i'm not sure why they changed it either but i think it's actually going ot make it more do-able....but we'll see...lol...either one will be a good program, i've heard good things from both so whichever you choose, good luck!!! you know uf's program though does let you continue on to get your masters right away, but i see your point!

great point, if there is anyone else trying to decide between ucf and uf keep that in mind. however, my goals are geared toward anesthesiology (which requires a year of icu experience) so the transition has no bearing on me. which is why i want to graduate earlier and start getting some experience. its a little disheartening leaving gainesville but i think i am ready for a change! im not sure if you go to uf but you will love it here, thats for sure.

Let me say this, I would prefer my Alma mater USF, but they demand your pre reqs be finished before you apply, that mess broke my heart . So I know how you feel about leaving your Alma Mater. I enjoyed USF very much and would do it again given the chance.
I was picking between UNF and UCF, but I just got my UNF letter and they want me to do the regular program . I am flattered to even receive an offer to head back to where i grew up as a kid but that length is just not in my plans. UNF has a very competitive, organized, and community driven program which I thought was better than UCF. I am community nursing driven so it just seemed perfect. Those who go to Gainesville have to stop and think do I want to be in that small town for another 3 years. To each his or her own but if you plan on moving; the chance of those master credits you receive transferring are slim to none. I did not apply to Gainesville once they switched up the date and were disorganized about the whole situation.
I will be submitting all my UCF stuff by the end of this month and registering for the orientation by next week.

I know some programs that the prereqs have to be less than 10 years old so you may have to retake them anyways. I retook some to get better grades but i still got waitlisted at UCF so if you have the money/time/etc i would just retake as many to get A's to give you the best chance. I have B+'s and As and i guess its not enough still.
