  1. Is that per semester???
  2. Thanks! I started a Sallie Mae loan also but decided to wait and see what else I get...we'll see
  3. Hey Fellow ABSN students...I'm starting the same program at a different florida school in fall..but I have a Questions for you all since you're going thru it right now.... DId most of you get enough Aid from Fafsa (even if it's just loans) to cover your living and school? Or did you have ot take Private student loans also??? and if so which private loans did you do? I'll be in your same boat in a couple of months and I'd love any advice!!! THanks!! and GOod LUck!!!!!
  4. Yep...My upper division GPA for UF was a 3.9 and my Pre Req GPA was about a 3.9 something as well. I was Health Science undergrad at UF and have worked for a plastic surgeon and got hands on patient care exp. for the last two years since graduating. My GRE I thought was the lowest part of my application but was in the 1100's and I got into UF, UCF and USF. Hope this helps!!
  5. ljr2010 : i totally agree with you on stressing that you want to continue your education in your statement...i heard from multiple sources that helps and i just got accepted as well!! the gre was also what scared me the most too! i work full time and took my pre-req's after work so i actually took a kaplan course...they material they give you and the practice tests are good but after taking the test i think just studying from any of those books and taking the gre's practice tests would be fine. definately study as many words as you can...the math was a lot easier on the actual test than it was in my kaplan course, but vocab, there's no way around that!! i agree i think it helps to have work/volunteer exp. i work for a surgeon now so i got a recc. from him and it looks good. also try to make all a's in your pre req's because the gpa part is very competitive--as i'm sure you already know. but good luck!! hopefully you'll be as excited as us this time next year!!
  6. ufprospect : good for you!! that's a great career...i may look more into it later down the line but you're right abt the experience....i went to uf for undergrad, graduated in 2008, although it'll be weird going back, i'm excited since many of my good friends are in grad school still..but you're right its good to get outta there after a while lol everyone is so young!
  7. Ms. Jazzo: Yes i'm sure you can...All I know is UF makes you take th GRE for the ABSN admission so that you're bascially already "accepted" into the program as long as your GPA remains above 3.0 or something like that...but yea i'm sure they do something similar
  8. ufprospect : yea i know how you feel but i currently work for a doctor so waiting till fall really doesn't affect me...i'm not sure why they changed it either but i think it's actually going ot make it more do-able....but we'll see...lol...either one will be a good program, i've heard good things from both so whichever you choose, good luck!!! you know uf's program though does let you continue on to get your masters right away, but i see your point!
  9. Thanks!! Good luck to you too! It'll be a challenge but well worth it for all of us!
  10. One more of you will be gettin in...I got into my first choice UF so i wont be going to UCF anymore....there's another spot :)
  11. I've been reading all of your posts since wayyyy back and finally joined....I live in Tampa...I got mine this morning...I got in!! Good Luck to everyone and congrats!!
