UC Davis Nurse Residency Program Fall 2019

Hi everyone!

Thought I would start a post so we can all keep each other updated on when we start hearing back from the units we applied to and the interview process!

What units did you all apply to?

hey everyone! I did my preceptorship in the ED and i'm wondering if anyone knows if the ED at UCD is accepting new grads? seems like the UCD program sends your application only to the same unit you precepted in.

Just got off the phone with HR, and she let me know that the OR is the only unit whose hired people already. They do have ED positions. Since there were so many applicants, hiring managers are just now able to see how many new grads they can hire. There are about 20 units that are hiring, so that's a good amount of positions available! Good luck to everyone!

Side note.. anyone trying for L&D?

Also.. the nurse recruitment lady said that it's possible we could receive offers until the beginning of September!

I am hoping for something in L&D or Postpartum (I did my practicum on a postpartum unit). Did you happen to ask the person in HR whether or not they are hiring this year?

I was also postpartum for my practicum, maybe I’ll call tomorrow to inquire if they’re hiring this year if @sjtdavis doesn’t know! It’d be nice to know one way or another..

L&D are scheduled to hire this year, but they of course didn't tell me how many spots they have. Hoping they make their offers soon!!

HR told me we can hear back anytime now till September too. That's a very long stretch of time :(
